A perfect fit on my ...

A perfect fit on my Bushmaster AR15a3, super high quality. Mine was machined beautifully and fit nicely under my MI 12inch SS Handguard. I now have a full length sight radius on a carbine platform. Only three inches of the barrel is exposed... it's a real head turner at the range. The gas block even included the proper loctite compound. The included loctite is high quality as well. The proper way to install this block is find where the set screws are going to make contact on the underside of the barrel and dimple the metal so the gas block won't move under firing. A little trick I used was to put a little bit of my wife's nail polish on the ends of the set screws, line up the block where you it is suppose to go then tighten the screws just till they make contact. Remove the screws and block and you will now have three perfect marks on the underside of the barrel from the nail polish. Now take a Dremel tool with a grinding tip and lightly dimple the underside of the barrel where the nail polish is. Just dimple them slightly maybe a 16th of an inch deep. Now reinstall the gas block in the proper position. Make sure you coated the set screws with the included loctite and let them sit for 10-15 minutes until the loctite is tacky. Then screw in the set screws all the way and torque them down nice and tight. You will notice a lot of resistance when screwing them in due to the drying loctite. It is suppose to feel that way and should be reassuring to know the screws won't back out under firing. My gas block is just as solid and stable as a pinned gas system. Follow the directions, dimple the barrel, use the loctite and you will be rewarded with a rock solid gas system that can be placed under a free floating handguard.

This worked great on my .750 RRA mid-length that I converted from the stock front A2 sight post to a low profile block to mount under the YHM 10" diamond spectre rail which is free floated. This gas block covers up both areas of bare metal that where under the standard front sight block, unlike the other low profile gas blocks I have used. No problems and was clean and ready to assemble out of the box. Will definitely use again.

The inside of the gas block looked liked it was Dremeled out. Not only that, it looked liked it was Dremeled out by someone who didn't know how to use a Dremel. Horrible craftsmanship. The regular machinist must have been ill the day mine was built. Of course, I found out how poorly it was made after I attempted to install it on my new barrel, which now has scratches all over the first couple of inches from the shoddy work. Spend the few extra dollars and buy a quality gas block. In any case, I'll make sure I inspect the inside of the next gas block I purchase.

This product works great. Mine came as J K of Wichita, KS described, but all I had to do was wipe it out with my finger and that removed any debris. After that it was perfectly smooth inside. No problems.
