This stuff is awesome on ...

This stuff is awesome on lead fouling. I shoot a lot of cast bullets in my 45 springer. This has been the best product I've tried thus far in removing lead. I run a patch of cowboy blend followed by a patch of break free. I let the barrel soak for about five minutes. Next I run a brush thru about twenty times then follow with dry patches. The break free seems to form a magical combination when mixed with the cowboy blend. Using this combination leaves a cleaner barrel than I have ever seen before where lead is the culprit and I have been shooting for over twenty years. I can't speak highly enough of this product at lead removal. NOTE- it's not great at taking off copper but then again it doesn't claim to. There are other cleaners out there for removing copper.

This is the first product ...

This is the first product that I have used on leading and it works quite well. It ain't magic, but with a small amount of effort it gets the lead out - and it takes the powder fouling. I find it works best when used with a small shot of Break Free.

Bought the Cowboy Blend ...

Bought the Cowboy Blend to remove leading from shooting cast bullets in my S&W 629. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but after reading the instructions & 30 minutes of wet bore brushing, dry patches,and wet patches, it had done little to remove the leading at the front of the forcing cone that I could easily see & feel running the rod through the bore. I then quit using the Cowboy Blend and went back to my usual stuff, Clenzoil. The difference was dramatic. As usual, the Clenzoil quickly loosened the lead which came out of the bore on patches as easily seen chunks & flakes. Within 10 minutes the bore was clean and the rod was passing through the bore effortlessly. So being, I'm not impressed with this Cowboy Blend formula...

Tried this product for ...

Tried this product for the first time today. It does a pretty good job of cleaning out the majority of fouling, but I'm not impressed with its ability to remove copper. After cleaning my 22-250 with this solvent I swabbed the bore with Barnes CR-10, my old stand-by. It brought out quite bit of green residue that Montana failed to remove.
