Purchased this ammunition for squirrel hunting with a Browning SA chambered for the .22short. Since I prefer to use the rifle with open iron sights, this has proven to be ideal for my maximum range of 30 yards.
The hollow point is deadly but not destructive to edible squirrels with shoulder hits. My favorite small game round.

Works great in my old Remington 121. If you are looking for a quiet 22, this ain't it. Most 22 shorts are great for quietly taking care of pests in the yard, this little booger sounds like a firework going off. Damn accurate, but a little loud for my applications.

This is some of the best short range small game ammo available. Fired through a rifle with a .22 Short Benz chamber, it delivers well over 1,200 fps (15 ft from muzzle) and 1/4" groups at 35 yards. It's much quieter than a .22lr and game returns to activity faster than after a louder report. This ammo delivers quick, humane kills without a lot of meat damage. A trapper friend swears by it in his revolver for dispatching furbearers without significant hide damage. If one is interested in doing the job without a lot of blast, this is enough.

This is really great for 22 Short. One of the best I've used. It almost keeps up with a standard Long Rifle round. I use this for squirrels and groundhogs. Up close, puts them down good, like a Long Rifle would do. I'll keep buying this round for close-up shots.

I've used and seen this ammo used for many years. Most recently used it to kill a 'possum eating the cat's food on the back porch. The animal just fell off the steps dead! I hit it in the chest. No blood, no exit wound, just an instant clean kill. My only criticisim is that it is too hot! It chrono's at 1150fps out of my 6" S&W 617, and 1275fps from a 18" rifle. Accuracy is typical "short" meaning that it is only good for about 20-25yds for most vermin. CCI should produce a standard velocity version with a subsonic velocity (under 1050fps from a rifle)-Would be much quieter without sonic "crack".
