I've been using the CCI 250 primer for about 15 years in all my hunting rifles. I discovered that I use approx. 1 grain of powder less than with a stand powder. It works especially well in very cold weather. Good shooting.

Unfortunately I am severely disappointed in my latest purchase of these primers. Using lot B10S, of 40 loads so far I have had 3 failures to fire and 1 severe hang fire. Upon opening them up 2 burned the powder but failed to ignite it. The last did nothing at all. Using Retumbo and brand new Lapua brass by the way.

It doesn't matter whether I am loading max loads of Retumbo or loads of H1000 in my 300RUM's, I have never had any issues with "hang-fires" or any other issue when I do my part to seat properly and not contaminate the primer. Very good product.

These primers work well in all temps from -15 to 98 degrees, I use them with both my .300 Winchester Magnum and my 7mm Remington Magnum.

I have never had a ...

I have never had a failure of any kind using these primers. My groups are very tight (depending on the gun). The only primers I would prefer over these would be Federal Gold Medal which cannot be found. In my experience with reloading over the past 28 years I have found that the only primers that would not fire were not seated properly (i.e. .004" below primer pocket). A good primer seating devise fixes that problem.

I use magnum primers ...

I use magnum primers exclusively in laboratory testing. I have never had a problem with the primers igniting slow burning powder. I use these primers because of their reliability.

I use these in my 300 ...

I use these in my 300 Weatherby and 458 Lott, with up to maximum loads, with not a single failure to fire, and they shoot consistent groups. As with any primer I take care not to contaminate them with case lube.

Would be rated higher if ...

Would be rated higher if the could be found more easily. The only mag primers I use and I am getting low. Maybe time to look elsewhere for my mag primers. Shame too I have never had a primer related failure with these. I just can't seem to find them when I need them. With my space limitation I cant buy more then 1000 at a time. With the amount of shooting I do I run short all the time.

Out of 20 rounds I loaded ...

Out of 20 rounds I loaded with these primers, I had 4 hang fires and two complete failure to fires. I was using batch J20M. I was using Hodgdon Retumbo powder, so it may have been that these primers aren't capable of reliably igniting the large charges of slow burning powder. Using other primers and the rest of that same batch of powder I did not have a single issue.

I've used these primers ...

I've used these primers for about a year (since I started handloading) and I've gotten numerous sub-.5moa groups with H414 and 168gr MatchKings, including a personal best of .188". I'll eventually try Federal Match Magnum primers, but these will do the trick for precision work, no doubt about it.
