The redesigned Leupold VX-3 Rifle Scope combines years of optical technology into one package to create a rifle scope that will become a favorite of hunters and shooters. The Quantum Optical System with Xtended Twilight lens technology advances beyond index matched lenses by specifically targeting the color spectrum that is most present in those critical final minutes of fading light, allowing you to clearly see targets for longer. The lenses also feature the Diamondcoat 2 lens coating which provides abrasion resistance and are edge-blackened to improve resolution by reducing glare. The precision twin spring erector has cryogenically treated adjustments to provide the utmost precision and 30 percent more holding force to ensure reliability. The fast focus eye piece allows for quick adjustments in the field at times when a split second might mean the difference between filling your tag and going home empty-handed. Every Leupold VX-3 Rifle Scope is water, fog and shockproof and is purged with second generation argon/krypton gas. Covered by the Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee.

I've had several vari X III and VX III and have never been that impressed with the glass or durability. This is my first VX3 and the glass and repeatability is very good. The glass/clarity really impressed me. The 2009 update of coatings and dual spring anchoring of reticle really have made this scope worth its money.

This is my fourth VX-3 rifle scope. I hunt North America and Africa and have never had a problem from transit, or in the field. Lenses are clear, undistorted, good light gathering capabilities, smooth operation, and these scopes are rugged. Those I have with illuminated reticles are crisp, and have very good battery life. You can spend more, but you will not get a lot more. I have complete confidence in the Leopold VX-3 rifle scopes for all game up to and into the dangerous game category. A quality product with excellent customer service should you need any question answered. In my opinion, about the most bang for your rifle scope buck you can get these days.

I have owned quite a few rifle scopes over the years, some that were less expensive than this model and many more that were considerably more expensive. I really don't believe there is any reason to spend more money on a scope than you would for one of these, unless you A) have plenty of money to throw away and/or B) your needs are very specialized. The VX3 series has had, for many years, among the longest eye relief available, and they are very precise and durable. No, they don't have the clarity or brightness of the European models that are three times the cost, but they are more than clear enough for anyone with decent eyesight, they're considerably lighter and have more eye relief than most of the expensive imported scopes, and they hold up to heavy recoil very well. You just cannot go wrong with a VX3 Leupold.
