The bullet that started the company, Nosler Partition Bullets feature a fully tapered jacket that ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet's axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high or low velocities.

Nosler's integral Partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration. The special crimp locks in the rear core section, adding strength to resist deformation under the pressure of heavy magnums. This is not loaded ammunition.

This bullet really suprised me with it's accuracy. Out of my .260 Remington it will put put 5 shots inside 1.4 inches at 200 yards! Using XMR-4350 I'm getting over 2900 fps, it's my whitetail load for this year.

The "finishing" shot that ...

The "finishing" shot that was used to dispatch the doe in my previous review entered the back between the scapulas, drove through the spine, through the chest cavity, exited the ribcage between the front legs, deflected off of the "knee" of the left leg, and continued to parts unknown. This at an impact velocity of 2700fps. I just wanted to give an example of the penetration this bullet is capable of. Even though I prefer the B-tips, I still keep a supply of these bullets on hand because they are one of the toughest bullets available that can be stabilized in my rifle's 9.5" twist bore.

I have loaded this for my son and his 260 Rem with excellent results. I have finally found information so that I can work this up for my Creedmoor. If it is half what my son has I will be very happy. The best bullets on the market are Nosler. Will update on the Creedmoor after a few weeks of work on it.

I've used this bullet for many years in a sportized 6.5X55 Swedish mauser with good results. Accuracy is good (average 1" @ 100yds.)and I have had good terminal performance on deer size game but I must admit I don't use it as much as I do the Hornady 129gr. Spire points. Not that the Hornady bullet performs any better it's just cheaper. Never the less as Long as Nosler makes this bullet you will find a box on my shelf.

I have used this bullet exclusively out of a 15" SSK 6.5 270 JDJ at 2,900 fps. I shot a huge cow elk at 300 yards in her bed and she never got up, just slid 50 yards down the hill, stopped by a tree. Full exit with a 20 foot blood spray out of the exit hole. 2 days later a large 6x5 whitetail at 200 yards in the point of the shoulder and out-- dropped in his tracks. Several does and antelope later and I realized. Why even try the 140 Nosler? Pretty hard to do better. Very accurate as well. The scope is a 3x12 Burris eer by the way.

I previously gave a 5-star rating to this bullet's accuracy & ballistic performance.This week I have taken a 9-pt. buck,and 5 feral hogs with my 6.5-06A.I.-all one shot kills. I had been watching 7 deer when (4) 150lb. hogs came thru, spooking them. 2 of the hogs were 100 yds. away side by side and cheek to cheek scuffling when I killed both with 1 shot through their necks!I I then took the other 2 with 1 shot apiece just behind the ears. In 15 seconds, 3-6.5 125gr. Nosler partitions at 3280 fps filled up my freezer!

With this bullet, launched at 3280 fps, over a max. chg. of IMR-4831,my pet 6.5-06 Ackley-Imp is an accurate(.75"-3@100)and to my mind, perfect medium game rig. Sighted 1.5" high at 100, it's only down 4.17" at 300,and -14.04 at 400 yds. Nosler partitions are easy on rifle bores and utterly reliable on game, near or far. What more could you ask for.

In my opinion and field use the best balanced bullet for ANY game in the non magnum 6.5 mm class. Have shot it is 6.5x55, 6.5x57 and 260 Rem. Offers no performance loss when compared to 140gr bullets. At 3000 fps in a 260 have seen it take Elk by several other hunters. Was carrying the same combo in my 260, but they saw shootable elk (horns), while all I saw were cow elk. Definitely the best balance for the 260 Rem for everything.

I decided to give these a try due to the close range shots I would be taking in the dense woods, and they turned out to shoot about 1/16" smaller groups than the 120gr B-tip out of my 18.5" Rem M7 in .260. Unfortunately they did not give the killing performance I expected. I shot an average size doe at sunset, perfect broadside shot from 15 yrds, and she trotted off through the dark woods. 5 mins later, I was preparing for a long night of tracking, when she slowly circled back to me and bedded 30 yrds from me. She struggled on the ground, and I finished her with a shot through her spine. There was no blood trail to follow. Had she not returned, I think I would have lost her. The first bullet had a 1.5" entry hole high near the shoulder (I was 15' up a tree when I shot) and .5" exit hole exact center-ribs, that clogged with tissue. The lesson learned, is that the Partition was made for penetration, and our small deer (average doe in SC is 110# according to DNR) do not need it. I would have preferred a larger exit wound and more energy transfer. I am going back to B-tips. I cannot beat them up too much because they performed as designed, but it was wrong for my application. If your deer is closer to 200#, or you also shoot hogs or black bears, or your velocity is over 2900fps, then this might just be the bullet for you.
