The EOTech EXPS2 Transverse Law Enforcement and Military Holographic Red Dot Sight is the shortest model available from EOTech. It runs on a single CR123A battery which provides up to 600 hours of continuous runtime at setting 12. The EXPS leaves tons of rail space available for mounting flip-up iron sights or a magnifier and the integral mount allows for use on either a Weaver or Picatinny-style rail. The EOTech EXPS2 is not compatible with night vision devices.

This is my first EOTech and will not be my last. I am using this on my Colt AR-15 LE6920 and it looks and performs great. Love it!

I've been an Eotech fan for years, despite having tried most of the other offerings by Aimpoint and Trijicon. I've found through a number of carbine classes that the Eotech's circle-dot reticle is faster for me than a simple dot and the larger FOV more forgiving of eye alignment when shooting from awkward positions with imperfect cheekweld.With that being said, in the past I've always preferred Eotech's AA models due to AA battery availability but in the back of my mind I'd wondered about the longevity of the plastic battery compartments, being aware of the occasional rare report of recoil-induced compressed or loose battery springs.The EXPS 2-0 seems to have addressed that problem with the metal transverse CR123 battery compartment that's stronger, shorter and avoids inline spring compression from recoil.The quick-detachable mount is fast & easy to adjust and install plus appears much less likely to loosen over time than the previous Eotech mounts.The only caveat is to use quality CR123's as cheaper batteries may not be strong enough to take the lateral pressure of recoil and end up rupturing inside the battery compartment.Finally, the actual weight of the EXPS is 11oz, not the 8oz listed (which is the weight of the XPS).Regardless, I give the EXPS 2-0 5 stars for its battery compartment, size and mount improvements .

This thing is flat out ...

This thing is flat out awesome! Lighter and smaller than the older units and takes only one battery as well. The built in quick release mount is yet another feature this little guy offers...for the price it is one heck of a unit. I had little problem zeroing this guy in at 50 yds, after that you can use the ring ticks for closer or longer shooting. I will add that so far the mount has held zero after removing it repeatedly AND it is nuclear bright if you want it to be. Awesome, no complaints thus far.
