This stuff is well worth the money and it won't stink up your house. It takes a little bit of scrubing if I don't have time to clean my 22 rifle right away but eventually it gets the job done.

Great general purpose gun ...

Great general purpose gun cleaner, I've been using it for over a year for bore, receiver and exterior cleaning on numerous guns with no problems. I now buy this product by the gallon.I've tried most cleaners. Most folks seem to find one or two and swear by it versus all others. I believe there are many fine cleaners and this is one of the best. I think I've tried nearly all major brands of solvent and lube at this point.The strong points of Pro 7 IMO is that it is relatively non toxic and nearly odorless. You can leave it in the bore without worry of pitting and use it indoors without spousal issues. Very effective at removing powder residue, use a nylon brush and get it foaming for best effect. NOT good for copper fouling. I still use Sweet 7.62 or Butch's Bore Shine periodically for copper fouling.GREAT for cleaning milsurp rifles. Really destroys cosmoline and grease deposits, great for cleaning small areas prior to lubricating. Dries without noticeable residue.As far as staining goes, I feel this is the safest cleaner in my arsenal.

Looking for a better ...

Looking for a better alternative to Hoppe's, I tried M-Pro 7. I love the spray bottle. Unfortunately, that is ALL I like about M-Pro 7. It seems to have the cleaning properties of warm water. I've since discovered Ed's Red which works MUCH better.

M-Pro-7 Is junk, Worst Cleaner I ever used. Nothing came out of the 7.62x54R Mosin 91/30 bore after shooting, nothing. Or out of any .308 after shooting. Nothing, patches came out wet and clean! I had to use: Butches bore shine, or the Best Stuff ever => Bore Tech's Eliminator. The only stuff that really works. Do not buy the M-Pro 7. I am getting my money back.

First off, the people that say this stuff doesn't work are lying. Simply lying. I'm a marine and have been using this stuff for about 4 years. In Iraq and Afghan. My whole platoon switched to this product. Absolutely the best thing there is. Cleans everything on a whistle. Their copper remover is a great combo to use with the gun cleaner.

I just wanted to let ...

I just wanted to let anyone out there know what a solid product this is. It worked well on ALL of my firearms, both in the action as well as the bore. I have used this product for about three years now and have never had it stain, discolor, tarnish or affect the appearance of ANY of my firearms!! I have used it on some VERY expensive guns with silver and chrome finishes also. There is also one other GREAT cleaning surprise that I came across. I was cleaning one of those Nasty old war surplus Mausers that was completely coated in Cosmoline, inside and out. I was trying to remove it with just about every harsh cleaner I had. Then I thought I would try M-Pro 7 to clean the wood gently and found instead that it actually MELTED the Cosmoline off the action! If you know anyone who spends anytime with this nasty stuff be a friend and let them know.

I have had great results ...

I have had great results with this product. Odorless and non-toxic. I use it for all my barrels. I bought a well used shotgun at a gun show and the bore was dull and filthy. With this product and some elbow grease the bore shines like a mirror again. I was amazed at all the gunk that kept coming out on the patches. It will even remove light surface rust. One important thing to keep in mind...you must re-oil after cleaning with this product because it strips away all oils and grease.

While it is advertised as a low odor, non-toxic, and overall safe to use gun cleaner, it doesn't really do a good job at cleaning. I found Break Free CLP to have comparable cleaning qualities. After I use up my M-Pro 7 pump bottle, I'll just go back to using straight Break Free CLP again. After experimenting with various cleaners and lubes, I find myself going back to Break Free CLP all the time.

I started using M-Pro7 gun cleaner because it was mentioned in a gun magazine as being safe for nickel finishes. I then took the challenge: after a range session I first cleaned the bore with another well-known product. Once clean, I then did it a second time with M-Pro7. I was amazed at how much fouling the other cleaner had left behind! I'm a believer; this stuff is fantastic.HOWEVER, I have to warn you. I recently heard other people say that M-Pro7 tarnished their firearm. I personally have not had any problems with this product (I've been using it about six months now)--nor do I understand how the manufacturer can claim it is "safe" for all firearms but yet have it cause tarnish--but there are those who swear that (a) this product should only be used in the bore (not in the action or on exterior surfaces), and (b) it needs to be completely removed from the firearm after cleaning (key word, "completely"), or bad things will happen when you store it.Like I said, I personally haven't had any problem, so I fully intend to continue using this M-Pro7 product (as well as their Gun Oil). I've never seen anything clean so well, and that's why it gets five stars. It's odorless, too... great for cleaning indoors without stinking up the place. However, you have been duly warned (with hearsay testimony).
