Eley Sport .22lr ammunition may not be "one-hole" accurate at distances past 25 yards, at least in my rifle, but it is exactly what it is advertised to be. It is reliable, inexpensive, dry-lubed practice ammo, and even more. It is a good squirrel round. Even using my $100 sport rifle, Eley Sport ammo delivers consistent point-blank "minute-of-squirrel" accuracy up to 50 yards, and consistent head shots at 25 yards, and even farther with a rest.This ammo is the best practice round I have tried in my clip-fed, bolt-action .22, with no failures-to-fire, cycle, or eject, and no jam-ups of any kind after more than 600 rounds fired. It also leaves my bore squeaky-clean. I don't have a semi-automatic .22, so I don't know how well this round will cycle an auto-loader.I like it. Good quality and value.

I was disappointed, ...

I was disappointed, especially after all of the other good reviews. Conditions: stock 10/22 with aftermarket trigger and hammer. Distance of 50 yards, temp in the mid 40's and no wind.I found performance to be very erratic; mostly due to inconsistent powder charge. The round was underpowered for 3 or 4 of every 10 rounds fired. Noticeable difference in felt recoil and sound. I could actually see the bullet arc to the target. The varying powder charge caused vertical stringing of the group (about 2 inches from top to bottom).

I am nearly through my first case of Ely Sport and it has performed excellently. Ely Sport also leaves surprisingly little fowling. True, it doesn't always cycle well in semi-automatics and it isn't as accurate as Tenex at 6 to 7 times the price. No one shoots the really high priced stuff for everyday practice. I use Ely Sport in my Anschutz, BSA Martini, and the 22 target barrel on my Thompson Contender for practice and it is both reliable and surprisingly accurate for the price.

I have never had an ignition problem. For semi-automatics I suggest something loaded for a little higher velocity and a little more recoil as Ely Sport doesn't seem to recoil quite enough for most semi-autos without modified recoil springs.

Eley Sport, as manufactured by Aguila in Mexico, Lot number 240909012. Had been purchased from Midway some time back, so I hope the more current lots are better. Most recent test, 200 rounds of said round fired through a Ruger Mark III 22/45 with 4" barrel, shot @ 10 yards, two-handed. Found ammunition to be less than reliable. Some rounds would eject, but fail to cycle the bolt enough to pick up the next round. Some rounds were prone to getting caught by the bolt while being ejected. Others never really made it out of the breech. Seemed to be light on power, while others would work fine, cycling bolt properly. Previously, I'd emptied the magazines filled with Federal 510 40-grain LRN, not a hitch from that ammunition.
Given the factory specs these with a muzzle Velocity of 1085 fps / muzzle energy is 105 ft. lbs, I've found the CCI Standard Velocity to be more consistent than these Eley Sport, Lot number 240909012.

Have run two bricks of this ammo through my 22A during our summer pistol league, alternating with Federal Champion 40 gr. solids. No FTF or FTE so long as each magazine is properly loaded. Accuracy with each load is comparable, cost of Eley Sport is lower, my scores are improving, and cleaning up after each session is quick and hassle-free. Sport ammo shoots a bit "dirtier" than Champions but have given me no problem, as I run a boresnake through the barrel between courses. They're accurate and work for me!

Bought these for use in a Ruger 10/22. They jam far too frequently. Three possible reasons. The ammo emits some sand like substance, the bullets are too soft and coated in an excessive amount of lubricant. So I get jams in the magazine, at the feed ramp, and after a couple hundred rounds my bolt and magazine well are full of a gritty, greasy mess. But when they do make it down range I am satisfied.

Purchased a Ruger Mark III 2245RP and also purchased (6) different brands of standard velocity .22 ammo for testing. Eley Sport was the only brand that made 1 hole at 25 yds. Also does well in my High Standard Supermatic Citation. Been using it ever since.

I tested 10-12 different loads in my customized Ruger 10/22 and this stuff gave me the second tightest group. Only Wolf did better. Since I'm not a match shooter, and since I wanted to save a bit of money, I bought a couple bricks of this stuff. I get good accuracy at a very reasonable price. Happy.

Excellent ammo! I use it my 10-22 with no problems. No misfires or jams, if you have those problems, try cleaning and oiling your weapons!

Does not feed in Ruger Mark III at all. Incredibly Accurate in my CZ 452 Trainer, w <1/2" groups average at 70 yards. 4 stars because about 1 out of 50 would very noticeably break sound barrier--meaning inconsistency, However, would happily buy again at sale price.
