Krieger M1A 308 Winchester Match barrels for the M1A are short chambered, hand lapped and double stress relieved. Barrels offer a dimensional uniformity that is held to within .0001". Included with the barrel (but not installed) is a band type 1" wide operating rod guide.

Technical Information

  • M1A/M-14 and M1 Garand Premium Match Barrels are the heavy pattern and are manufactured to the same internal finishes and specifications as all of our Match Grade Barrels. They are 30 caliber, four-groove, with twists of 1-10, or 1-12. The gas port is located in the rifling groove, not on a land; and the gas cylinder, receiver threads, feed ramps, and the extractor groove are timed off this groove. These barrels are completely turned, threaded, and milled with this exception: They are unchambered, and approximately .010" to .020" is left on the barrel shoulder for your gunsmith to bring it into time with your receiver when he fits it. All the critical exterior dimensions are precision ground on an external grinder which will hold the diameter to a very close tolerance. These heavy match barrels are available in chrome moly which are furnished parkerized. All of these barrels are completely legal as a service rifle under NRA rules.
  • Standard barrels for the M1A/M-14 are the heavy pattern which is a full 1.100" diameter as far as possible from the breech to 1.000" diameter at the operating rod guide and continues at .990" diameter forward to the gas cylinder. Included with the barrels, but not installed, is our band type one inch wide operating rod guide.
