I just bought my 5th ...

I just bought my 5th Nikon Monarch with the BDC. This one is going on a custom that I am having built. All I can say about these scopes is WOW!!!! I have used Pentax, Burris, Bushnell and in my opinion these are far better. Since I reload with a chrono all I have to do is work up my load and hit the website for my hold overs. I keep a cheat sheet on a laminated card attached to the side of my stock for quick reference. Try one you won't be let down!

This scope is ...

This scope is ridiculously clear. Out of curiosity I pointed it at the moon...I no longer need to buy a telescope. Its clarity and zoom are top notch. The build quality is excellent. I found using the BDC Recticle very effective for my uses at 500 Yards and under. The ballistics data offered (for free) off Nikons Website tell you exactly where to put your target against multiple points inside the reticle for the distance you're working at. Its very useful. For the price, I don't think you will find a better scope. This Scope is mounted on a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 .

This scope is an ...

This scope is an excellent product. Fit and finish are superb. Clarity is on par with Leupold VXII or Bushnell 3200. I used this scope with a 300 WSM. I developed a reduced load for whitetail deer. After zeroing the scope for this round at 100yds I tested the BDC out to 500yds. The results were suprisingly accurate.

Solid scope! I purchased ...

Solid scope! I purchased for my .308 Remy Tactical Compact. Main thing to keep in mind is the reticle is located in the second focal plane. That is why the reticle size remains the same size through power adjustments. On this scope the BDC will change with power adjustment. This is common for most scopes but was a surprise to me! The adjustments are repeatable. The 'mini' turrets under the caps are removable and therefore can be zeroed.Great solid scope for the value.

This is my first Nikon ...

This is my first Nikon scope, as I have always been a Leupold man. I have a 4.5-14x50 adjustable objective VX-III on my 22-250 that I used for a comparison. The Nikon has a little better clarity and view quality, the side focus AO is easier to really dial in, and the scope has plenty of eye relief for no bloody noses from my 300 Win Mag. Also the mini turrets work great and I don't have to stand up from the rifle to make adjustments. The Nikon also comes with some pretty nifty covers too. Even with the Nikon being half the price of my VX-III, I don't see any drawbacks or shortcomings. My next scope purchase will be another Monarch.
