The HP action kit is will give the shooter a crisp, clean trigger pull reduced to approximately 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 lbs. This kit consists of a target hammer with shims, EDM disconnector, EDM sear, target trigger with overtravel adjustment, trigger plunger with an improved radius, trigger plunger spring, a special hammer spring, a recoil buffer to reduce wear on the action and bolt as well as an extended magazine release and automatic bolt release.

I got mine and had little trouble putting it in. I have read about the safety not working properly and mine didn't. I took a close look at it and saw that the sear was a little longer than the factory one. I put the two on a pin to check for length and had to GENTLY file the new length on the end that comes in contact with the safety button. It then worked excellent. I thought I could fine tune my over-travel screw by dry firing, but when I got to the range it would not let the disconnector work, so I backed it off and this really improved my groups. I only wish I would not have thought about it for so long and had purchased it a long time ago. I think the two little washers are for side slop in the trigger but mine was such a good fit in my trigger housing that I could not get one in. Love this trigger now!

Installing this kit is ...

Installing this kit is not the easiest job I have done on these types of rifles. The directions are the worst I have ever seen.The safety would not function without grinding it down considerably. After it finally was installed it did provide a smoother trigger pull, but the action would absolutely lock up about every third cycle. No reliability here. The problem I see with this design is the hammer spring, it is not at all like the factory design, totally different in function. The spring "legs" do not align on top of the recessed slots on the trigger like Volquartsen says it should and the entire hammer is loose, sloppy and just plain wobbly in the gun. I will never again buy anything from a company like this that invests so little research and development in their engineering of firearms parts.

Very unhappy. Huge amount ...

Very unhappy. Huge amount of trigger take up and creep. Could not believe how bad this was after paying over the price. I liked my stock trigger more. Heavy trigger pull but less creep from a stock trigger is much better than the results you will get here. Read the reviews below. I am not the only person who thinks this way. Will never buy Volquartsen again.

Extremely disappointed. ...

Extremely disappointed. Kit came missing a spring. Not a big deal. The reason for my rating is this trigger has a lot of take up and a lot of creep. In fact after the take up is out, the trigger seems to have 2 stages of creep before firing. I was happy and had no troubles with the trigger I replaced. But it was a modification done to a stock trigger group by me. I figured now that I could afford Volquartsen I would get one because they had to be able to do a better job than I could in my garage. Don't go off and start modifying your gun on your own. But if I could do it then there has to be a company out there that can too. Try someone else.

This kit contained the old model hammer; it caused slam fire and unreliable ignition. Volquartsen quickly exchanged the part and the kit provided the promised improvement in trigger pull.

The kit takes time to install correctly. The kit has two small washers in it that are not referred to in the instructions. I like the results and what I can do with it. I have four kits in my own guns and have done a few for friends. I have tried the lower-priced kits, however, the results are not as predictable.

The quality and results ...

The quality and results are great! My rifle now has a light crisp trigger and being able to install it myself is a bonus. I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because the first installation was more difficult than it needed to be.I bought this after reading the previous reviews which were probably more helpful than the instructions that were vague at best. The advice on the safety and the correct installation of the new hammer spring saved me a lot of grief. The only other problem I had was with the original spring on the hammer, the instructions referred to it in passing but after looking at the exploded diagram in the Midway master catalogue I figured it out. Now that I have done it once it is very simple, isnt the learning curve great?

This is the worst ...

This is the worst aftermarket trigger I have ever bought. The instructions are vague and there are no pictures. The pull improved some but not enough to warrant the cost of the unit. I will have to do some grinding to get the safety to work as its blocked by the sear. I still have creap and overtravel in the trigger although it is improved from stock unit. If I hadnt lost the packaging it would be going back. I will get a Jard complete trigger because I know they work and are only slightly more in cost. This is my second problematic Volquartsen product and it will be my last.
