Note: This follower is designed to use the flat "W" type magazine spring. If the rifle has a wire coil type spring, obtain a Savage plastic follower with coil spring (Savage factory part) for a short action rifle, then remove the plastic follower and install the Callahan aluminum follower. This combination will work best when fitting the Callahan follower in a long action rifle.
