Product Information

Sierra MatchKing bullets have very thin jackets and are held to exacting tolerances in diameter and weight. These Hollow Point Boat Tail bullets have a small meplat to produce a higher ballistic coefficient. Their accuracy has been acclaimed worldwide and they have been used to win more target competitions than all target bullets from other manufacturers combined. The 30 Caliber 150 Grain MatchKing was originally developed for 300 meter international matches in the late 1950s. It is an excellent choice for medium range target shooting. This is not loaded ammunition.

The most accurate bullet ...

The most accurate bullet I have found in my custom 30.06 target rifle. At near max load with IMR 4064 it is exactly 3000fps and incredible accurate (less than 1/2 MOA).

I shot several groups ...

I shot several groups with these bullets today. I used H 4350 pdr. and RP brass. First shot at 2 o'clock. Next 3 in same hole, all touching first shot. Overall group at .325, last 3 shots too small to measure. same Weatherby Vanguard deluxe, 30-06, Nikon Monarch 3x12. You gotta try these, Bob

On whitetail, centered ...

On whitetail, centered rib going in, took out 3 ribs going out. Gone. Missing. Silver-dollar-sized exit wound in the hide. Still ran 40 yards, but bled out very well. Don't use in heavy brush as this bullet will break up. A friend first loaded these for me in the late 80's. For the most part, it was a bang/flop round on deer. Just recently started loading them myself. Like getting re-acquainted with an old friend. .

Accurate bullets as ...

Accurate bullets as always from Sierra. Seated out to the lands is the best but, will jump some also. With this bullet I can shoot you a .25 group any day with my CZ 550. Midway is the place period !

I use these in an M1, and ...

I use these in an M1, and they provide the best groups.I use IMR 4895 powder (47.0 grs for my rifle). The best groups are less than 2 MOA. I buy in bulk (500) at a time.Bob D.

I have never used these ...

I have never used these bullets for hunting, and as most who know even a little about it, would tell you these are not hunting bullets. Now, if you want to make some jaw-dropping accurate handloads to take to the range with you, you'll see just how well your gun can shoot! These Sierras are the single most accurate (and by a wide margain) bullet I have ever fed to my Browning A-bolt Medallion 300 Win Mag (with CR BOSS), producing a 5 shot group that looks like a penny-sized ragged hole@100 yards! get some of these, and with a little playing around with pressures and OAL, you can be shooting the groups you only previously dreamed of!!!

I know these are for ...

I know these are for targets but I use them for hunting. I load these in a 300 win mag and have shot hogs and deer. At 150 yards, they will remove opposite shoulder on a doe. I love these.

Super accurate in my M1A. ...

Super accurate in my M1A. Can cover 5 with a dime at 100yds. At 300 an inch or less. Not a hunting bullet, however if you shoot a deer just behind the head there is a good chance of decapitating it. Goes off like a hand grenade.

So far only targets and one foolish jackrabbit that was investigating my 1,000 yard gong making noises. My Savage 10 in .308 loves these things. Getting them is a pain on stocking so if you like them get a couple boxes, and tell Sierra to make 500packs!

I have an M1 Garand and I ...

I have an M1 Garand and I target shoot only. Have trouble feeding due to open point, Winchester bullets at 147 grains are better for target & feeding. Reload IMR 4895 at 2700 per second. I don't see any difference between the two for target shooting.
