Sierra MatchKing bullets have very thin jackets and are held to exacting tolerances in diameter and weight. These Hollow Point Boat Tail bullets have a small meplat to produce a higher ballistic coefficient. Their accuracy has been acclaimed worldwide and they have been used to win more target competitions than all target bullets from other manufacturers combined. The 30 Caliber 240 Grain MatchKing was originally developed for use in 300 Winchester Magnum sniper rifles. It requires a 1 in 9" twist as it if difficult to stabilize but proves to be extremely accurate at long ranges with the right load. This is not loaded ammunition.

I shot these out of a ...

I shot these out of a custom built .300 RUM with a 31" barrel 1x10 twist. Sierra does state that these require a 1x9 twist or faster, but I thought the horsepower of the RUM and the longer barrel would surely stabilize this bullet; it did not. I was amazed how poorly these bullets shot. I find a lot of the groups some of guys on here are claiming to get are hard to believe at best, but if I told you how BAD my groups with this bullet were, I don't think anyone would believe me! I've tried every bullet weight from 155 up and have settled on the 210 bullets which shoot incredible. I tried the 220 bullets and they were also great but accuracy fell off just a tad over the 210s. for what it's worth, I think the 240s are just too heavy.

Reloaded for my 300-221 ...

Reloaded for my 300-221 and have no problems hitting half gallon jugs at 300 yards. I will update this post after I paper the group at that range.

I use these in my .300 ...

I use these in my .300 whisper 1-8 twist 16inch barrel. I got 1 inch subsonic groups at 100 yards. The only other option for a heavy .308 bullet is a 250gr hawk bullet that costs twice as much. This bullet is worth the price; get as many as you can before Sierra stops production on this one.

Excellent shooters with ...

Excellent shooters with the correct equipment, I have the local benchrest crowd's attention every time I get out my big 300 Win and shoot these bullets. Have been in shootoffs at 100 yards with 6 PPC benchrest guns!I was getting >2700 fps from a 30" long, 1-10" twist barrel and loved it.

THE bullet to use in the ...

THE bullet to use in the .300 RUM. Using a 1-in-8.5 twist, 30" BBL, at 2950 FPS, I shoot a less than quarter size group at 200 yds from the bench! Am almost done with my first 500, now on to the next 500!

A great bullet. I run ...

A great bullet. I run these as my primary load in my .300 WinMag. I have only done preliminary testing on them, however my best 3-shot group yet is 0.60" at 100yds. I opted for these because of the high BC. I haven't found another .30 caliber bullet yet with a higher BC.
