This is the first "nice" ...

This is the first "nice" scope I have ever bought. I wanted a scope with parallax adjustment but they were all too expensive, so I stretched and got this one. It hurt a little, but when I got it on the rifle all the pain went away :-) This scope is greatness. Bright and clear, and 18x is awesome (esp. for paper at 100 yards). I also like the target turret knobs that came with the scope. They are big and fat and look really cool too! I bought this scope to go on my 22-250 Ruger No. 1. Previously the nicest scope I had was a Prostaff 3-9x40 on my .308 bolt gun. But after using the Buckmaster scope I have purchased another one just like it for the .308. The Prostaff 3-9 is a great scope but it doesn't hold a candle to the Buckmaster 6-18.

If you ask a photographer ...

If you ask a photographer who makes the best camera lenses, without hesitation, Nikon. When I was a younger shooter, you would have to read a lot of reviews to select the right scope for the task. All of this changed when I saw Nikon was making scopes for Rifles. If you buy one of these scopes for your rifle, you will be hooked. All of my rifles have Nikon scopes now. Only one has another brand, and that's an old Remington 700 BDL with an Unertl, I keep for nostalgia.

Lucky me, I got one of ...

Lucky me, I got one of these from Midway a while back when they had a special deal and the price was...a lot less. Would I spend the current price for it? You betcha (that's why I'm on this page). The clarity of optics is nothing short of superb. Puts my Burris that costs twice the current price to shame. Fit and finish are likewise excellent in every regard. Adjustment clicks are positive and it holds zero very well under heavy recoil. If there is one beef I have it is that the sunshade included doesn't follow the lines of the scope (it is a little narrower in diameter than the outside swell of the objective lens housing) - this makes it look a little goofy, but the critters don't care as they die just as well at long ranges.

Recently purchased a pair ...

Recently purchased a pair of these scopes and am very impressed (I have the 6 x 20 Monarch) with how clear they are. This scope also included a sunshade and additional target turrets to replace the caps on the existing target turrets. Glass is clear and bright with very little distortion out at the edges and color comes though bright. This scope passed the 4 corner test twice and goes right back to where you started from. For the price, I think you would have to spend four times the money to do better then this scope. Runs neck and neck with my LRT 6-20 x50 Leup and that scope was three times as much.

This is an excellent ...

This is an excellent scope for the money. Very clear and bright. It comes with large target turrets but you don't need them. The regular turrets are large and easy to adjust. They look the same but fit under the caps. I will definilty buy more nikon scopes in the future.

Currently bought one of ...

Currently bought one of these at Bass Pro Shop. The clarification from 6x to 18x is amazing. Usually the complaint about these are the adjustments don't click, however, they do just not as loud as other scopes and even still very easy to use. It came with the lens cloth, different adjustments, and the lens covers and they all work very good. Highly recommend for the price.

First a little ...

First a little background, I am a photographer and I know optics. I own Nikon UCC's, Pentax Lightseekers, Zeiss Conquests and Burris Fullfield II's. I needed a scope for a Savage 12FV in .204 Ruger and saw this item in an Eblast from Midway. After looking up the specs I decided to try it. WOW! I am very impressed with this scope. What a nice piece of glass. This scope is sharp, nice contrast and has very little distortion. Honestly, it looks better than ANY Leupold VXIII I have looked through and like the other scopes I have, it's true competition are products from other optical/camera manufacturers (Swarovski, Shepherd, Kahles, etc.). If you want the best optics, go to the people who make the glass. (it is my understanding that Pentax makes glass for Burris and Burris builds scopes for Pentax).
