Lee Steel Die Sets have features identical to the Lee Carbide 3-Die Set except the case MUST be lubricated for sizing. Sizer Die, Powder Through Expander Die, Bullet Seater Die, Shellholder, Powder Measure, load chart and storage case included. Bullet seater die features and adjustable taper to roll crimp.

Great for the price, but ...

Great for the price, but I wish they were carbide. Just lube, lube, lube. Stuck cases arent fun.

I've used these in my Lee ...

I've used these in my Lee challenger for 1 year now. I use different size and shape bullets for target and hunting and I've had no problems. They are strong and work reliably. Remember you MUST lube the sizing/decapping die.

This is a great die set. ...

This is a great die set. I wish that Lee made a Factory Crimp die, and offered this as a 4-die set. I have loaded hundreds upon hundreds of rounds with this set and have saved lots of money over buying commercial ammo for my Desert Eagle. The fact that it is a steel set means that you must lube the cases, but this is a small setback when you consider the price for a carbide set. I just toss them back in the tumbler to clean off the lube and go to bed -- no biggie. 5 out of 5 stars if the set was carbide and had a factory crimp die.

Very fine die. It is not ...

Very fine die. It is not carbide steel so one must use a lubricant. Had Lee offered this in carbide, I would have rated it higher. I also called Lee Precision directly and was not impressed with their attitude. Had their attitude be more pleasant, again the rating would be higher. Comparing this to another brand that is carbide steel, the Lee dies is a bargain. As the competition makes one in carbide but it is expensive. I cannot justify the cost of spending that much money. The loads are much better than factory loads and not as expensive as factory made. I just wish that there was more reloading and loading options available for different grains of bullets. If one uses any of the dies for the Desert Eagle, do not use lead bullets as it will foul the barrel and gas cylinder plug. Even the manufacturer doesn't suggest the use of lead bullets. The bullets must be jacketed. Hope this helps.

This a very nice die set ...

This a very nice die set for loading 50AE - rounds accuracy is very good. The sizing die forms just right for Hornady 350 gr bullets - chambering is good. I just wish it were carbide to avoid lubing the case. The flaring die is very convenient since it also allows powder charging. Just mount a funnel on the die and you can use dippers to charge the case while u expand. You can also use a Lee auto disk measure for automatic charging when the case is inserted in the die. A Lyman 55 powder measure also fits the die nicely. Bullet seat die is a bit tricky to set but I got a good tip from the Lee Modern Reloading book about easy set-up of this die. The die is now set properly. You can also order custom bullet seating stem from Lee factory at reasonable prices for round and flat head bullets. Downsides? The locking ring uses a rubber o-ring to lock the die. This allows flex or play on the die especially during heavy sizing operations. I switched to Lyman split lock ring- problem solved. Lastly, the Lee die sets offer free shell holder and load data. These are very pleasant add ons that add value for the product not found in other brands. I would recommend Lee dies to everyone anytime!
