This rest is perfect for sighting in rifles, muzzleloaders and shotguns and features a rear adjustment knob for horizontal positioning and rubber over-molded, padded forks. Forks can be used to hold guns for shooting or cleaning.

Technical Information

Material: Polypropylene and rubber.

Adjustment: Fork is adjustable to 4 positions. Rear turning knob for precise adjustment.

Notes:

Over-Molded rubber on fork and base to protect firearm.

Forks store in middle compartment when not in use.

Bought one of these to help zero my M4 clone AR-15. Returned it immediately because the rifle just doesn't fit/sit well on it for zeroing. Would be good for maintenance, but not shooting.

I agree with the other reviews, best option for the money. I use it at home and at the range with great results. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the finite amount of adjustability when sighting it, especially if your rifle has legs mounted. If the v-notches were a bit wider it would compensate for this. All-in-all, though, it's been a great purchase, holds all of my long-gun supplies and, while not as good as a true benchrest vice, it works well!

I've use this for both cleaning and for sighting in. It is superb for cleaning rifles and shotguns. Using it to sight-in was disappointing. Even with 40 pounds of weight, it bounces badly, gun slides and requires alot of adjustment to get the rifle back into position. I'm back to sandbags. On the positive side, it works great for pistol shooting rest (TC Contender) due to the reduced recoil and using only one insert. Good value for the price as a cleaning tool.

For the money, this is a 5. Just remember it is not a gun vise. Works extremely well as a portable cleaning and does a great job as a gun rest. I like it because when I a working up a new load I have everything in one package. I shoot 5 rounds clean and shoot again.

I've had the MTM Site-In-Clean Rest for a couple of months. I've found it handy to work on my Ruger 10-22 on the bench, and to install scope shims at the range. I kind of wish the v-holders were a bit wider, or maybe adjustable, so I could pack a sandbag or padding in there for sighting in, but it's very adequate for getting your poi adjusted into the black as it is presently designed. It would really shine for placing a bolt action rifle in for cleaning the bore.
