One look and you know Xtreme Tactical Rings are all about point-of-aim security and durability. The super-strong yet surprisingly lightweight, six-screw aluminum rings anchor scopes in place on any Picatinny rail or Weaver-style base to deliver unfailing return-to-zero. Available in 1" and 30mm sizes, a choice of four ring heights accommodates the installation of any sight from red-dots to large objective target scopes. The 1" height is perfect for all scopes on AR15/M16 flattop receivers, providing proper cheek weld. Designed and built for the rigors of tactical shooting and massive recoil, Xtreme Tactical Rings are not out of place on varmint rifles or big game rifles that may be exposed to the abuses of hard hunting and magnum recoils.

Good quality, big beefy 30mm rings for lots less than other "tactical" rings. HUGE bearing surface on scope, six torx screws hold ring upper in place. Nicely machined steel clamp will not tear up alum 1913 rail. Just be mindfull of the ring depth (front to rear), these are twice as deep as regular rings and may not fit on short scopes or red dots.

weak engineering

I have the burris medium rings and they are great and function as advertized for a great price. However the low rings are weakly engineered because of the miniscule area that the nut side clamp has to grab onto. The medium rings have plenty of surface area to clamp onto but the low ones dont have much, that coupled with that area already being damaged ever so slightly makeing the ring cant from the recoil bar/clamping bolt when torqued to the reccomended 65-100 inch pounds. This could possibly bend a scope tube if you follow Burris's instructions of tightening the top screws before torquing the mouning nuts on the side. So i decided to get the vortex precision matched low rings wich are a much better and sleeker design.

I rate these as two stars for just above poor quality. Reasons are below.These rings are ok. Aluminum and thick construction. First pair I've purchased and I usually lap my rings. Took about an hour to lap these and still didn't get as much contact as I wanted. Approximately 80% even contact in the forward ring (which is what I was looking for) and 60% in the aft ring (channel at a 30 degree angle counter clockwise leaving some low spots). Mounted on a weaver 20 moa riser. It also came with a bur which left some light wear on my scope when I was trying to position it for proper eye relief before lapping. Would have been nice to get better contact. Also 6 screws seems a little unnecessary and makes installing the top ring just a little more inconvenient (they're also very long). Would suggest another set of rings if you're looking for better quality.

The Burris Xtreme ...

The Burris Xtreme Tactical 30mm low rings with the two piece Burris Xtreme Tactical Picatinny bases worked perfectly to mount my Vortex Viper PA 6.5-20x44 side focus mil-dot scope to my Remington 700 VLSS thumbhole .204 Ruger. The medium height rings were too high, leaving about a half-inch or more gap between the bottom of the Viper's objective bell and the top of the 700's heavy barrel. The low rings cut that gap down to about a quarter inch or so, leaving plenty of room for scope caps but positioning the scope lower to the barrel so you can maintain a good cheek weld. Also, the Model 700's bolt has plenty of clearance with the low rings to avoid contact with the rear ocular on the Viper when the bolt is opened. The Burris Xtreme Tactical rings are well made and easy to install. But they do cause the scope to cant slightly when you're tightening down the scope caps, even if you use a criss-cross torque pattern on the screws.

Rings were apparently way ...

Rings were apparently way off. So far in fact my Vortex PST only had 1 MIL of windage left. I wouldn't have wanted to even try and lap them true. Also three of the ring top screws began to strip using the proper bit T15 and with the properly measured amount of torque. Burris did replace those without question.

Excellet rings. I mounted them on a Millett one piece base on a Remington 700 308. These rings with the base put my 50mm scope about 1/4" from the barrel. No lapping required. My first shot was 2" right dead on elevation. Easiest zero I've ever had. Great, solid, tough looking rings. I would say buy them while you can.

Great quality, but I ...

Great quality, but I think where they save some money is by milling the bolt on one side to fit in the slot of the base. This works ok but it's not a perfect fit like a square key. I use the rings on an 11-87 Remington with a Mark 4 scope and it works great, but I highly recommend lapping them in for a perfect fit. I also use the same scope and rings on a Browning 300 win mag and will be putting them on a new Remington 700 SPS.

The best all-around tactical ring on the market. Scope doesn't twist when torqueing. Not my first set of Burris rings and definitely won't be the last. Have my Mark 4 scope in these on an EGW 20 moa base. Awesome combo.

I bought these, along with the matching bases and it is the most solid system I have tried. Very close to perfect alignment with only a minimum of lapping required to true them. They lined up the scope 2&1/2 minutes low and 1/2 minute right. If you have never mounted a scope before, that is a good thing. No shims were needed. Excellent product for and excellent price!

These rings are GREAT. The 6 set screw design holds on tight. The low 1/4" height allows for a "co-witness" sighting with your iron sights, and the other great advantage on the design is- The base of the rings secure independently, so if you need to remove your scope/sight it allows you to do so, and still have the rings attached to your scope/sight- with makes it easy to re-attach to your firearm without adjustment. these rings really are XTREME!

I needed low Weaver style rings, and these fit the bill. They are well made, and have held up fine. Burris seems to be making a lot of reasonably priced tactical mounts and rings. I'll be using more of their stuff in the future.
