Kimber's Kim-Pro Tac-Mag 1911 Magazines provide the shooter with a customizable, highly reliable 8-round 45 ACP magazine for their full size 1911 handgun. The Tac-Mag features a heat-treated and polished stainless steel body, a high speed "rocket wire" spring, and an extended, Teflon coated follower to make it one of the smoothest feeding and functioning 1911 magazines on the market. It comes with enlarged, numbered witness holes that make it easy to determine the remaining ammunition in the magazine at a glance. Each KimPro Tac-Mag comes with a quick change floorplate feature that allows the user to install one of 3 different supplied base pads as needed. Base pad choices include a flat stainless steel unit for concealment, a slim polymer bumper bad, and a thick polymer bumper pad. Fits 1911 handguns chambered in 45 ACP with a full size frame.

My Kim-Pro Tac-Mag magazines (I have five of them) are excellent magazines in my Kimber Gold Combat RL II. These magazines feed ammo very reliably, which may be due in part to the Kim-Pro magazines Teflon coated follower. Also, my thumb appreciates the ease and smoothness with which the Kim-Pro magazines can be loaded. In my opinion, the Kim-Pro magazine compares favorably with the also excellent Wilson 47D magazine (I own five of these too) for performance and quality. And, when used in my Kimber pistol at least, The Kim-Pro magazines seem to slide in and out of the magazine well slightly more smoothly than the Wilson magazines.Another thing that I like about the Kim-Pro magazine is that Kimber provides three different size base pads, and the screws for attaching them, with each magazine. That's a nice way to get versatility without having to buy a whole other magazine or magazines to get it. However, I admit that, so far, I've only used the medium pads on my Kim-Pro magazines.In summary, I'm very pleased with my Kim-Pro Tac-Mag magazines and I would highly recommend them.

The two 8-round Kim-Pro ...

The two 8-round Kim-Pro Tac-Mags with the extra base plate and two bumper pads I purchased appear to be very well made and functioned perfectly in my Springfield GI 45...until each mag reached the two hundred fifty round count when they started to fail to lock the slide back when empty. Eventually the mags started producing three-point jams when feeding the last round.During this time seven-round Springfield factory mags and Wolff mags were functioning fine. Eventually I replaced the springs Kim-Pro 8-round springs with 8-round Wolff springs and the mags work fine again, although due to the heavier Wolff springs, the mags now hold only seven rounds.Other than the Kim-Pro 8-round mags having not very durable springs, they are fine product.

Good mags. I have used them extensively for several months with no problems. The screw on base pads are a different touch, but so far so good.

The first thing I did after firing my new Kimber 1911 was to search for new magazines for the pistol. After looking at many brands and varieties, I decided to try these Kim-Pro Tac-Mags. What a difference! They function smooth as silk. The different base pads are a nice feature but I prefer to go padless and have the 8 round mag be flush to the grip. I haven't had these for too long but I couldn't be happier thus far. I highly recommend them!

I have used Colt .45 mags ...

I have used Colt .45 mags from every major producer in the World. I've used all the best names, the next best, surplus, new, old, foreign, domestic, and all the rest. Let me be open here, I don't own any Kimber pistols or stock in Kimber. That said, as for the Kimber Tac Pro II magazines, the only problem is I don't have enough of them (yet). For years, it has been said that the Colt 45's weak spot is the magazine. Well, if so, Kimber has solved that. In my humble opinion, the Kimber Tac Pro II is unquestionably the most reliable mag for a Colt .45 that has ever been produced. It has the durability of a BEAST and the reliability of a Rolls-Royce Jet Engine. I have older, once cantankerous, Colt Series 80 that has seen many a gunsmith until I started using Kimber Tac Pro II magazines. Now they send me discount cards while I shoot magazine after magazine without jams or failures. Thanks to Kimber for solving the problem permanently.

I have eight of these mags with the slim bumper pad that I use in a Kimber Stainless TLE 2 for the range, carry, and USPSA competitions. These mags are excellent! In competitions these have been dropped on the ground and covered in dirt and they still work flawlessly. For carry I top off (eight +1 in chamber) and rotate mags every week and have never had an issue. Would recomend to anyone.

Great looking and operating mag, but overpriced in my opinion. I use them in my springfield mc operator and have had no problems even with +1 loadout, slap it in like a man and you should have no problems.

I bought these magazines because I wanted additional 8 round capacity for my Ruger 1911. These are the quality I expect from Kimber. The choice of base pads is a nice feature, however take care not to overtighten the screws. These magazines perform flawlessly in my Ruger, Springfield and Kimber 1911's.

These are super LOOKING mags, if you only want to run it with 7 rounds, I got one with my Taurus PT1911, and if you load 8 rounds the spring is completely compressed, with no spring left for ammo compression in the stack and although it will lock in place, it takes alot of force to do it and has to put alot of undo upward force on the slide

I have a Kimber TLE II stainless which is the best shooting pistol of the 4 Model 1911's that I own. I now have 4 of these excellent magazines. They perform exceptionally well in all my pistols but of course I bought them for the TLE II. My only minor gripe is the untapped base plates provided with the screws and pads. It's tough at times avoiding stripping the screw threads when installing the pads. But, I still believe that these are the very best magazines I have and I've tried a wide variety of brands! Good work Kimber, as always!
