Product Information

The ACE Gen 4 M4 SOCOM Stock features an adjustable length of pull in five 1/2" increments, and is approximately 6 times stronger than the original AR-15 collapsible stock/buffer tube design. A closed cell foam stock overtube cover provides a comfortable cheek weld. The stock offers 4 sling attachment points for ambidextrous flexibility in carry options, including a dual loop ambidextrous-style mount integrated into the receiver end plate, and 2 machined 1-1/2" sling loops. Buffer and buffer spring not included. Stock weight is approximately 16.5 oz.

Technical Notes:

Standard Stock (7.5"-9.5") uses a Carbine Buffer and Buffer Spring (not included).

Long Stock (9.5"-11.5") uses a Rifle Buffer and Buffer Spring (not included).

Best Stock I've ever had

Pretty much have to agree with everyone else...this stock is like a solid chunk of metal on a fat stick of metal....no rattling, no bending. Feels like you can use it as a sledgehammer if you had too. Coming from stocks with storage compartments I was a little upset that I had nowhere to put my batteries and boresnake, but the small inconvenience of jamming them into my grip is WELL worth the strength you get from this stock. If your buffer tube bends of breaks, whatever you have in your storage compartments will probably be useless because your rifle won't function, that's how I look at it now, and I'm converting all my AR's to this stock.

This thing is a METAL MONSTER! This has gotta be the toughest and baddest carbine stock out there, next to the new ACE Hammer stocks. Not the lightest stock out there or the most gizmo-rific with storage compartments galore. My ACE goes on Rifle not a futuristic ray gun that requires lots of batteries. I like my buttstocks for shouldering my Rifle and hitting stuff so this is perfect. I saw a previous reviewer said he got the "old model" with the castle nut and ambi plate. These in fact are the newest GEN 4 versions. It is an over the older locking collars which required QD swivels to mount a single point sling. I don't like a rear side mounted QD swivel because it might release on accident from contact with gear. Especially with the old design that placed it on the side right where most gear rides in a chest rig. Having a end plate with hook loops on each side allows a sling's HK hook to mount directly to the gun with no way of it coming off. I like it, plus it allows you to change the End Plate with a different design of your choosing. Let's not forget the other sling mounting options for a traditional 2 or 3 point. For me the Ambi Plate is perfect as well as the rest of the stock.

The stock was well made but not what I expected. The stock pictured is not the one I received. I received the old model style with the castle nut mount. Returned for refund.

Purchased this stock for my first AR home-build. Of the three aftermarket AR stocks that I own (this one, a CTR, and a UBR), the Ace has the sturdiest feel -- slightly sturdier than the UBR. Very comfortable.One problem: It comes with a sling mount which cannot be mounted at the forward position in a lefty configuration without obstructing access to the forward assist.

This is a very sturdy and well made buttstock. It installs easily once you get the OEM carbine stock off (AR builders are fond of loctiting the lock rings on). It's rattle free and the tube is thicker than standard. My one caution is that these stocks are about 1.25" shorter than a standard folding stock. If you are on the tall side, you should plan on getting the 1" spacer.

Added this stock to a DPMS LR-308. With the 1 inch recoil pad, it is basically the same as the standard A2 stock. I can now more readily use the rifle with winter clothing. Solid and a pleasure to install.

MUCH more comfortable than the standard military M4 buttstock. The neoprene pad is very comfortable, and the butt pad gives a solid stock weld (even when wearing body armor!). Only problem I had in installing was that I initially didn't tighten the lock screw tightly enough. I also put Loctite on it to ensure it would be solid. No complaints after that!

Great Stock, great ...

Great Stock, great company. Was missing locking collar when it arrived from Midway. I called Midway and was told they couldn't do much except return the entire unit for exchange so I called ACE. They were extremely apologetic and had the part to me in two days. This is one solid stock. I have tried the standard fixed stock along with the "standard" adjustable stocks and neither compare to this. It is designed to be used as a battering ram in the collapsed position if that is any indication of strength. I would highly recommend this stock; it is worth the money.
