Before you go out and spend hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars on a new Custom rifle, first squeeze all the potential performance out of the rifles that you already own! In this course AGI will show you how to cut your group sizes in half or more by improving the rifles function using existing parts and by employing the tricks of custom gun makers that you can do yourself. Save Big Bucks and keep your existing barrel by re-crowning, setting back and re-throating the chamber. When to do Cryo work and stress heavy pinned recoil lug, blueprinting the action and lapping the lugs, bedding for 100% contact and all the details of perfect stock fit. Plus- trick after market parts that really work, proper barrel break-in techniques, fitting a special firing pin, trigger, bolt stop and why. Everything that you need to know to tune up your factory rifle is covered in this course. Although most applicable to the Remington 700 and Winchester Model 70 rifles, which are covered in detail, many of the techniques can be applied to numerous other models as well.

Another outstanding video by AGI!

AGI's master riflesmith and machinest, Darrell Holland, walks the viewer through every step in making an off-the-shelf firearm shoot like a multi-thousand dollar custom rifle.
In the video, Darrell performs the tasks that I have performed countless times on so many rifles, but by following the tips and tricks in this video my rifle blueprinting jobs are faster and easier than ever before, and with better results. Darrel teaches the rifle accurizing process using a Remington 700 and a Winchester Model 70, and discusses differences that apply to Mauser and other rifle actions.
I believe every professional gunsmith would benefit from owning this video, and every amature gunsmith would, if he follows the instructions, be capable of turning a factory rifle into a tack driver.
In the video, Darrell walks the viewer through what to look for in an off-the-shelf rifle disassembly, action blueprinting, chamber and crown blueprinting, action bedding, trigger setting, reassembly, and much more.
Again, this video will empower the amature gunsmith to produce a tack driving rifle, and improve and simplify any professional's accurizing methodology.

This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. It explains how to bed a stock the right way, true an action, do a trigger job, mount a scope, and mant more things. It also explains why these tips help in accuracy. I like the DVD over the VHS tapes. It's easier to go to the index and search out just the parts you want to rewatch. I am very pleased with this DVD

This video is actually ...

This video is actually more like 3.5 hours long - not the 2 hours noted in the description. It covers a lot of ground. It was interesting to see how Mr. Holland tackles the various issues in accurizing a rifle.The video is based on tuning a Remington 700 with an H. S. Precision stock. The Winchester Model 70 is also considered by showing how you would have done the job on the Winchester after showing how you do the job on the Remington.The trigger job section for the Remington is the best I've seen. The Winchester Model 70 trigger job isn't covered in this video.The bedding section seemed like it would go on forever. Mr. Holland appears to believe that the H. S. Precision aluminum bedding block isn't up to the task. I've got four of them, and my experience has been better than his. He shows a neat trick toward the end where he uses a dial indicator to evaluate the bedding job. I think a person would be well advised to try this trick BEFORE getting into the mess of formal bedding - especially with stocks like H. S. Precision that include a built in block that may actually be quite good.Naturally, the proof of any accurizing is going to be in the shooting. After barrel break in and working up some good hand loads, the three shot groups were very nice (the best was 3/8").... but not any better than what I've seen with a whole slew of stock unmodified Remington 700's right out of the box after proper break in and careful load work up.All in all, it was an interesting video. I would enthiastically recommend it to anyone who is thinking about super tuning a Remington 700, and I might also recommend it to someone who wanted to super tune a Winchester Model 70.

Excellent video! I especially liked the section on bedding, which I feel is applicable to any action/stock combo, not just an H-S. His techniques for removing excess epoxy with a Q-tip and razor blade were awesome, and would have made my first bedding job come out much better, if I had had the patience to buy and watch this video first! Live and learn. Also, his tip to use a syringe to apply the epoxy instead of a popsicle stick, like I did, will eliminate unsightly air bubbles, which I had plenty of. After watching this video, I'm confident my second bedding job will turn out very professional looking, and not amateurish like my first. Highly recommended, great job Darrel!
