ProMag magazine bodies are constructed of high carbon heat-treated steel and TIG-welded for strength. The springs are precision wound using heat-treated chrome silicon wire. Bases and followers are injection molded from polymers selected for their durability. The result is quality, consistency, durability and reliability.

I'm new to the M14 platform and was reading about mags and most everyone seems to say that the only good mags are USGI. Well I came across these ProMag 20rnd mags and I bought two. So far not a single malfunction after about 300rnds or so. Quality looks on a par with SA when compared to the construction and finish of the SA 10rnd mags I got with the rifle. So far so good. I would buy more.

I must have gotten a dud. The parkerization on one side was really scuffed and scratched immediately out of the package. Which given the cost, I would merely consider cosmetic, but upon taking the mag to the range the follower bound up in the body after the first five rounds fired. I tried lubricating the mag up with breakfree, but still binds. I havent gotten it to work yet, and with a little finagling it probably will. Just frustrating usually good reviews on thie site are a great indicator of a good product. Hopefully, just a dud but I wouldnt buy another.

great mag for the money

this is a great mag for the money. The only problem Ive had with it was that it will hold 21 rounds, but with the extra round you cant get it in the rifle with the bolt closed. All in all its a great mag,you just have to be sure not to lose count of how many you put in it. I own 6 of them and never had a jam. Good quality good price, I dont see any reason to spend the extra cash for the springfield mags when you can get three of these for the price of one of them.

I had to slightly file on the bottom of the spot welded on catch point of these magazines before they would lock into my SOCOM16. After that they work fine.

I have been using these mags for over a year now, and have bought 4. The most recent one was the only one I have had malfunction; the follower slipped sideways and locked up. This was the 1st time I loaded it. Had to dissasemble and repair, but have had no more problems. They seem like good mags to me, although I will state that the 3 springfield mags I have have never malfunctioned...ever. I'll give these 4 stars.

DO NOT PURCHASE THESE MAGAZINES!!! They are completely unreliable. I had purchased these magazines over a year ago and did not have a chance to use them until now. I purchased six of them, and not a single one could be counted on to reliably feed all twenty rounds. I averaged 6 failures to feed, stovepipes, or magazine follow binding with each of the magazines. I put over 240 rounds of Winchester 7.62x51mm Surplus Ball through these magazines, so I don't believe that it was the ammunition or the firearm. I have heard several different sources say these magazines are not reliable as well; purchase factory original or GI surplus magazines and save yourself the headache.

After extended periods of storage fully loaded, the springs in these magazines don't seem to be quite as strong as those in my Springfield magazines. Every once in a while, I got a failure to feed; it seemed that the next cartridge just didn't rise into place quite quickly enough. That was a rare malfunction, though; I would still trust them, even in a bad situation. It may have been the ammo, because I am still experimenting with what my Socom likes best. I still give them 4 stars, and will probably buy more; they seem to be the best deal going in M14 magazines!

I ordered this magazine to test out the quality, for the price it is by far the best price and quality you can get on the market. Other places are charging twice as much for the same magazine. I will be buying more of these magazines.

This is an update to an earlier posting... The promag mags still work perfectly, but the springs seem a little weaker than my Springfield mags after being stored for an extended period fully loaded. However, they seemed to get their full spring tension (or close to it) after being left unloaded for a few days. I don't know how this could be possible, but it certaainly seems that way to me. I will take one star off, but still feel that these are excellent mags, especially for the price! I have several now, and they are very consistent in their size, construction, finish, etc. I'm sure that I will buy more!

Just got two that performed flawlessly. The finish was rough, but that cleaned up with a bit of steel wool; they'll get scuffed with usage anyway. The price is very good.
