The Lee Auto-Disk Adjustable Powder Charge Bar is adjustable between .28 CC and 1.6 CC allowing the reloader to develop precise charges. Each adjustment line on the thimble is .1CC. This charge bar comes packaged with a volume measuring density chart for all of today's popular powders and detailed setting instructions. This is a disk with a micrometer setting on it to precisely adjust the powder charge. It is always recommended to weigh out charges.

This is a must have if you own the LEE Auto Disk powder measure. I recommend getting or at least looking at the complete Auto Disk Pro update kit that includes this part; youll thank me latter. The adjustable powder measure is invaluable for small pistol charges. It makes it much easier to get the proper charge that can be in and you dont have to disassemble the unit to change the disk. I start out with a light charge and slowly adjust up to the correct charge weighing it at each step. It is better to increase the charge from a lower level because you dont want to compress the powder in the cavity. So decreasing the charge will require the powder to be evacuated from the unit. I only gave the product 4 stars because I believe it should come with the measure to begin with.

This thing works great ...

This thing works great for exactly measuring small pistol charges WITH ONE EXCEPTION. When used with a progressive press and small charges make sure the lever on the measure is pulled FULLY DOWN when the platen reaches bottom on the press. Otherwise the charge bar doesn't line up with the hole in the powder canister and you get squib loads. Luckily I learned the easy way suspecting I had squib loads and weighing them (300 loads, whew). Learning the hard way is something I don't like thinking about! Other than that it works great, is very precise and easy to set.3 stars because of the ease of making an error.

used it on three diff cal and it is hit and miss. some rounds were on the money and some almost no powder, others overweight. could be me but you might want to sample a lot more often

It's possible to set your Lee Auto feed powder measure by changing disks, but with this wonderful invention, you can VERY quickly fine tune your powder charge for pistol calibers.

Very useful in certain ...

Very useful in certain ways, but can be dangerous, also.Tested extensively...Works great with large charges of rifle powders- smooth/precise (+/-.1gr) even with coarse IMR4198. Achieved better than .1 gr precision with N-201, Rel 15, H4895 and TAC using double pump drops in 5.56 cases (and powder baffle in hopper). Also tested/dropped 20 straight w-231 set down low at .54, so works with fine/flattened ball powders.However is DANGEROUS when using smaller size opening for small (pistol) charges of FLAKE POWDER.Tested with 4 gr. Clays- opening ~ .585... 6 good charges in a row then DISASTER - dropped less than 2.0 grains!!! Duplicated results trying to drop 5.1 gr. Unique- works a while, then- less than 2 gr. drop.Seemed ok with flake type charges above 6.6 dial reading and 6 gr. Unique, but I won't trust/use it for flake powders- you'll just have to test and see what works.

This charge bar works like a champ with small amounts, 'IF' you make a small modification. Just add about 1/8" of shim material (I used card stock) to line the non-movable inside edge of the charge cavity. This moves the center of the cavity over the drop area. 5-stars if not for having to mod it.

Three stars instead of five because like others' experience, my charges below .37 CC were wildling inconsistent, even with very smooth charging, tiny particle Titegroup. Like first charge no powder, second double charge kaboom. I wanted this for a mini charge for 380.... around 2.5 CC or so... and completely unreliable, even with Titegroup... at least I couldn't make it work.As others said, the bar drop chute overshoots the drop hole, which is likely a design to give the powder two shots at dropping... so not faulting Lee on that.Again as others have stated, the micrometer settings are so tiny that I could not use them to "return to".. so always had to reweigh if i changed settings. But that is not how you should use this. This is perfect for setting an exact charge, measure and weigh until you get it right, and then leave it. They are cheap: buy one for each caliber and just set it on the shelf, drop in the right one for each. With Titegroup, that is 9mm and up, although I am not so picky that the disk works for most of my calibers for plinking.I could not get repeatabililty for the micrometer setting, as others had mentioned. But for dialing in a charge between the disk hole settings... say .42 CC instead of .40 or .42, once you dial it in, just buy one for each caliber, set and forget. Again.... .37 or so and larger for small ball powder.

I got it and was convinced it was 0 star material, it wouldnt dispense below 1.0cc. and seemed misaligned. the next day I put it in amd suddenly it worked like a charm, dispensing accurate loads for my .357. it seems to be a hit or miss item really but costs so little it may just be worth a try.... when it works it shines.

I got this with the Lee Pro Auto Disk, as I wanted to fine tune powder weights for 9mm. This adjustable charge bar is complete garbage. I set it to the approximate setting per the instructions and chart included, put it in, and it isn't even lined up right. It sits too far forward. Trying to adjust this thing failed. It either wouldn't line up with where the powder drops, causing it to not give any powder, or it would give a case full (literally). I was trying to fine tune for about an hour, and not one time did I get the charge I wanted, let alone 2 throws that were the same. Returning it. The discs worked perfectly, unfortunately I can't get the weight I want with the discs. I do love my Lee dies and Hand Press, Lee Classic Turret, not so much either.

Let me help anyone out there that are having trouble with this - or the LEE Autodisk system on a turret loader in general. The folks over at LEE are scratching their heads wondering why everyone complains about charge consistency with this product, and have relegated those problems to user goof-ups and have since moved on. When LEE tests this product, and believe me they have, they get highly accurate charges. The reason you are not is because LEE uses test cases. They clean the cases, make sure there is no debris, oils or case lubes on those cases, then charge a whole bunch that are identical. You must do the exact same thing. Many of you using case lube on your cases, leave it on there after sizing, then drop powder into the case. This is a no-no. After you have sized your cases, clean them, remove all debris, oils and lubes from them, then put them through the turret sequence WITHOUT sending them back up through the sizing die (residual case lube resides therein). In any event, if you see powder stick to the neck interior, you will get an inconsistent charge. Take an extra step, clean the cases (Pay special attention to the interior neck cleanliness), and you will see that charge consistency is quite nearly perfect.
