OMG! What a difference this makes! It's one of those things you didn't know you needed until you get it. Speeds up the slowest part of the turret press, reloading the primer holder. It's made of cheap plastic, but for what it does, I see no need to make it out of anything stronger. Feeds well. Installation isn't brain surgery, but they could improve the instructions a bit. The pics were not all that clear. If you use auto disk powder measure, you have to be able to position the powder measure toward the center of the turret. Otherwise it will hit the auto prime. My powder measure is off to the side above the bullet seating die, and it just bumps the auto prime as it comes around. The auto prime does "give" as the powder measure hits it, so I'm not worried about it. Lee does sell a riser, or the swivel adaptor for the powder measure that I'm pretty sure would fix this problem.I wouldn't let either problem stand in the way of recommending this product.

The update kit installed ...

The update kit installed easily and increased the production rate significantly. I actually abandoned my progressive press and went to the Lee 4-hole turret press once I installed this update kit because I found the priming much more reliable. With the progressive press, whenever something goes wrong, it takes longer to clear up the problem. With the update kit, reloading is almost effortless and fast enough for my needs at this time.

It's cheaply made, ...

It's cheaply made, slightly in the way, and spent primers do go everywhere, but by George it works great. Took me about 100 rounds to really get in the groove but I'm now loading faster and easier. I"ll appreciate it even more as my eyesight fades. it's cheap to, imagine the price if it was green, orange or blue. I've heard Lee products called a "marvel of low cost engineering" and I agree completely. I"m already recommending it to people.

I updated my '95 or '96 ...

I updated my '95 or '96 vintage Classic manual index 3 hole turret press with this kit and the auto powder riser adaptor. It took a bit of getting used to at first, but I am very happy with it. The primer holder does a great job of keeping primers right side up and I've not experienced any primers being loaded upside down. Being used to loading on the right hand side of the press, I had to get used to left side operation. Primers do occasionally land on the floor when using it. But this has only happened when I was moving pretty quickly and occurred approximately 4 times out of 200 loads. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

Definitely speeds things ...

Definitely speeds things up. Very happy with the product. Buy the powder measure riser too. I mistakenly bought the swivel adapter at first, which doesn't raise it up at all, but is still nice to have nonetheless. You may need to readjust your dies slightly since you are installing a new ram.

Works well for me. Just ...

Works well for me. Just remember to tighten the two phillips head screws on the feed end when you first get and check prior to each use. Makes priming on the Lee Turret and Classic Cast presses a breeze. Does take a bit of 'technique' to use. But, once you discover the way it works, it is quick and easy. Recommended.

I've been reloading my revolver rounds on a 3 hole Lee Turret press with auto-index for years. I always hated fumbling with the primers with my big fingers and felt that it was definitely the slowest part of the reloading process. About a year ago I bought a four-hole press to reload my .45 ACPs and .40 S&W and fell in love with the Safety-prime. I really didn't want to start loading my 3-station stuff on the new press however (extra stroke or manual rotation) so I bought the update for my old three-holer. Since I was already familiar with the feed set-up it was easy to install the update. It gave me a chance to clean up my press too... As stated by many already, the powder-feed riser is a good investment. You can make it work without it, but everything gets a little crowded on top of the dies.

Works great and was easy ...

Works great and was easy to install ,instructions were easy to follow. I've loaded over 500 rounds. The biggest problem is if you do not push it perfectly straight in it will pop out of the hanger bracket and miss feed throwing the primer out on floor or not feed at all. It could use some type of alignment bracket under the primer feeder to line up with the primer arm and a better hanging bracket to hold the primer feeder to correct this problem. Not sure how long this will last because it is all made out of plastic and somewhat fragile, Time will tell. You will need the powder feed riser. In all this is a good investment and speeds up the reloading process a lot

i found mine to be a bit ...

i found mine to be a bit flimsy with the plastic parts. Also, the return spring in the large primer tool flips out of the recess so the thing won't reset. So I bent the return spring a little sideways and used longer screws (1/2") to hold the halves together. Problem solved. With these mods, the primer works like a charm.
