I also bought this booklet and was disappointed to find all the bullet diameters are listed as .308. As for the review suggesting it is fine accuracy wise to shoot .308 bullets in a bore that slugs out to 312, well that just isn't right. The reason this reload data lists bullet dia. at .308 is because until this recent massive importation of Russian Mosin Nagants, the Mosins previously imported were of Finnish manufacture. The Finnish Mosins are all chambered for...you guessed it... .308. This is why the compiled reload data is for .308 bullets, and this is why there isn't much selection bullet-wise as yet for .312 diameter bullets. If your Mosin slugs out at .312 like mine does, I would suggest that instead of wasting your money on this booklet that you buy the Hornady Reloading manual instead. Yes it's more money but it lists excellent reloading data for 7.62x54R for .312 diameter bullets. In fact, I just loaded some at the start load for a 174 gr. FMJBT bullet and the reduced recoil makes the Mosin more of a joy to shoot. Regardless, if you want to get the most out of your .312 dia. bored Russian Mosin, then you don't want to load and shoot .308 bullets. You instead want to get the Hornady manual and use the load data for the .312 dia. bullets.

The 7.62 X 54 R wasnt ...

The 7.62 X 54 R wasnt originally loaded with .308 bullets. They were more like .303 (.311-.312 Dia.). I dont want to know about loading with .308 bullets. They dont list .308 bullets for the .303 British!

This booklet has turned out to be a very poor source of reloading information for the 7.62 x 54R. The majority of bullets listed in this sorce is of .308 diameter when the caliber itsef is of .310 to .311. It is out dated information. We need some American sorces of .310 diameter bullets.
