One of the fastest, easiest and safest ways to clean a gun, Eliminator will eliminate the need for other special cleaners on the bench. Works for rimfire, centerfire and shotgun barrels, this cleaner works in a two step process, the first one changes the electric configuration of the copper and the second step acts as a magnet to remove virtually all copper and prevents it from rebedding into the barrel. Non-toxic, non-flammable chemical is petroleum and ammonia free.

After comparing many ...

After comparing many solvents, this is the most rapid and effective. Using multiple barrels fouled with copper jacketed bullets, stainless and chromoly, a solvent patch was swabbed then allowed to soak 2 minutes followed by a dry patch. The dry patches were compared; first round w/ Bore Tech Eliminator then with a different solvent used similary for the second round. The third round was again Bore Tech. If the third patch had noticeably more fouling than the second patch of a comparator it was deemed less effective at rapid removal of fouling. This process was applied to Hoppes 9, Sweets 7.62, Shooter Choice mc-7, Tetra gun, Montana Extreme, Butch's, Wipe-out w/ accelerator, Otis, TM Solution, and M-Pro 7. The bores were deemed completely clean by Eliminator soaking overnight with completely clean dry patch noted and borescope inspection. The overnight soaking was tried w/ all solvents deemed safe and no further fouling of any type was removed by these solvents. Lastly, no smell or skin irritation noted with Eliminator. Many of the other solvents were very good (TM solution, Montana Extreme, Shooter's Choice, Tetra Gun, Wipe-out with Accelerator).

I don't know what's in this stuff, but it works. Little odor, four wet patches through the barrel, then scrub 12 or so times, then 4 more wet patches, let soak for five minutes, then pass dry patches through until clean. I use Bore Tech proof positive jags and brushes. I have never had any copper remover work this well, this easily. After the first wet patch, the second one is blue from the copper in the barrel. Just a word of warning, if you have cut(s) on your hands, this stuff burns, you might want to wear some exam gloves.

I have used just about every solvent there is on the market. And while I love good ol' Hoppes #9 for cleaning my .22s and shotguns, Boretech is THE best I've found for getting copper fouling and other grime out of bores. It is especially awesome on high-powered rifles. Use as instructed on the bottle and your bore will be squeaky clean and shiny in just a few minutes. Great stuff!

There are many excellent bore cleaning products on the market. Some do this , some do that. I've used Hoppe's #9 for over 40 years and I still use it, but it seems to keep cleaning forever without getting completely done. I just started using Eliminator and can't say what it might do to a bore over time. What I can say is that I've never seen anything work as fast or as well. Not Montana copper killer, not Sweet's, not Outers, not Birchwood Casey's, not anything. Wow!

Before I start this review, I should say that I have a 17" Hawkeye bore scope that allows me to see every millimeter of the inside of the barrel. Using this device (which I purchased from MidwayUSA) I can clearly see the presence of absence of copper. This takes all the guess work out cleaning a barrel.The rifle I was cleaning was an AR-15 DPMS 16" which had fired 200 rounds. After cleaning the barrel with patches soaked with Hoppes #9 to remove powder fouling, I swabbed the barrel dry and ran the bore scope down the barrel. As expected, there were a considerable number of copper streaks in the barrel, most pronounced from the gas hole to the muzzle. Following the instructions on the Bore Tech Eliminator bottle to the letter, I set about cleaning the barrel, a process that took 15 minutes end to end. With the barrel now cleaned and swabbed dry, I ran the bore scope through the barrel again. There was some minor traces of copper but about 75% (my estimate) of the copper was removed.I decided to repeat the entire cleaning process, again following the instructions exactly. Upon completion, I again ran the bore scope down the barrel and was pleased to see that there was NO copper to be seen. Normally, the gas hole inside the barrel is the one place where copper accumulates but there was none to be seen.This product works, period. I will do a few more comparisons with my traditional cleaning vs. the Bore Tech Eliminator over the next few weeks. But if this product works consistently, which I expect it to, then all other solvents, cleaners and scrubbing pastes are in the garbage and the Eliminator will be come THE cleaning product going forward. A few points to note. I used a Dewey aluminum jag as had been advised by one reviewer; avoiding the use of brass jags seemed to make sense. I also used a nylon Iosso cleaning brush for the scrubbing part of the Eliminator cleaning process. Both items are available from MidwayUSA.

This is the stuff for cleaning bores. Just follow the instructions, three wet patches, scrub with a wet plastic brush, and three more wet patches, wait for a while and some dry patches and you are done. Best of all it doesn't smell. It doesn't get better than this.

This product is unbelieveable. I can't believe it works that good.One patch to soak. Wait ten minutes. Three passes back and forth with nylon brush. Five dry patches. Done. Repeat once if barrel really fouled.Removes all powder and copper. After I started using it, it seems to lessen copper fouling.Crazy good product.Where has this been all my life!

I purchased Sweets 7.62 after reading many very positive reviews. Well, I thought it did a fairly good job - but wasn't extatic with the end result. I started searching once again, and came across Bore Tech Eliminator brand copper remover. WOW! - I couldn't be happier. My Winchester model 70 in .270 winchester caliber, that I recently got in a trade with a friend. He was very neglectful with the cleaning of the rifle. It took me a while to get all of the copper fouling out of the barrel - but what a difference. ZERO copper to be found. A wonderful product - and NO ammonia smell to deal with. I'm happy I bought the 16 oz size bottle. I'll be buying more, and will highly recommend Bore Tech Eliminator to every shooter I know. Thanks for a superb product!

This is my all-around favorite cleaning solvent. I had tried several so-called "1-step" cleaning solvents but none of them worked very well on copper fouling. I'd also tried a few "non-toxic" bore cleaners and found them to be little more than a joke when it came to removing heavy fouling. But this solvent is for real. The only way you can get better results is to use a carbon solvent then use Sweets on the copper. However, this solvent works almost as well and is much easier and quicker to use. Definitely a 5-star product.
