Put this on my PT1911 ... helped a lot ... brought my grouping in by about a 1/4 in. Barrel rides a good bit smoother as well... the oem had alot of play. Good Product

Got this to replace my blued pt1911 bushing. With stock bushing I could depress the guide rod plug and then easily take the bushing out with my fingers.. ZERO effort. I am happy that this bushing required NO fitting at all. I did however sand down the inside edge of the outer bushing because it was very rough to the touch, and felt like it would drag on the barrel, now sure what they didn't chamfer it? After that no issues. This does now require me to use my supplied bushing wrench which is fine, it's not hard to where the wrench is going to break or super stiff to try and turn the bushing in, but I think it's the "leverage" of the wrench makes it much easier to get the bushing in place... Over all it looks fantastic, very solid piece made by EGW. Please take note that I also got their long nose guide rod plug so that it is the same height as the bushing out the outside. If I would have used my stock guide rod plug since this bushing IS a couple mm thicker it makes the guide rod plug look wierd if it's not flush in my opinion. Though functionaly it would work fine so don't think you have to buy other stuff... it's just purely a cosmetics type deal.Over all VERY pleased with this bushing and an honest to "drop in part" that I have ever seen in my particular case.-Nigel

Ordered for my '07 vintage Taurus PT1911. Barrel to bushing fit was perfect. Slide to bushing required very minor dressing for a perfect fit. Adding the barrel bushing to my already installed EGW stainless FLGR improved my groups, removed the slop in the barrel and really dressed up the business end of the pistol.

Nice part! It fit into a Rock Tactical with no problems, and works flawlessly. Be advised: It is tight. You'll need a bushing wrench.

I installed this bushing in my Taurus Pt 1911 and was an incredible difference in accuracy, appearance and it took away all the slop. The only problem I am having is I notice some scratch marks on the barrels' top lugs. I was told that I need to put a slight "chamfer" on the bottom front and the rear top of the bushing to allow the barrel to rise and drop with the action. Hopefully I've taken off enough to solve the problem.

This is a drop-in part for the Rock Island A1. The OD on the bushing is .699 just as EGW states it is. The ID of the RIA1 slides I have seen measure between.700 and .7015. This gives you a slim and tight fit with between .001 to .0025 clearance. NICE! The factory bushing has up to .010 slop in clearance greatly hindering accuracy. (Remember, the 1911 GI is designed for combat, ie; covered in the mud and still goes BANG!)The bushing to barrel clearance on a factory RIA1 is about .006. The EGW prefit bushing brings that down to .003 which is the clearance many gunsmiths try to achieve when fitting a new barrel and bushing combo. With the factory bushing, I was shooting 1.25", 5rd groups at 7 yards and 3" at 50ft, all from sand bags. With this bushing, 50ft dropped to 1.5" and 7 yards produced a grouping that could be covered with a nickel!! These results embarrassed my shooting buddy and his $1250 Kimber "ninja special, all the bells and whistles" target 1911!!The locking lug on this bushing fits very snug and required a bushing wrench initially. I installed the bushing without the barrel and spring, then rotated it back and forth with the wrench about 20 times. This "lapped" the slide and bushing together making it possible to remove and install the bushing with moderate finger pressure. This process still maintains critical clearances.This prefit bushing, whether purchased in blue, stainless, carry bevel, or any style will fit your RIA1, and most other 1911's, with similar results. This is the perfect accessory for the budget minded shooter wanting a lot better accuracy. (Remember: If you are planning on buying a match barrel, many new barrels come with a bushing, so buying this one would be redundant. But, if your goal is to embarrass the posers and their glamour guns, yet not sell the farm to do it..... this is a good start!)

Great product and worth every cent! Had to shave a nat's butt off of the alignment tab to allow for assembly, but barrel-to-bushing and bushing-to-slide is very snug. Just put 100 rounds through is fairly rapid succession. Nice small groups (major improvement) and no malfunctions whatsoever!! I'm a happy camper.
