The Peltor muffs work ...

The Peltor muffs work well by themselves but I was distracted by the white-noise in the background. The solution was simple and worked really well. I used a pair of foam ear plugs under the Peltor's then cranked the volume all of the way up. I hear everything at normal levels (or better) and shots are even quieter than just using the muffs and no white-noise. Since I wear an aviation headset on a daily basis I really appreciated the feather-lite weight of these headsets. The only change I would like is a "squelch control" to eliminate the noise at high volume levels.

I have had a pair for several years now. I got them because I hunt deer with a large caliber handgun and wanted to protect myself from the damaging muzzle blast. They work as they are advertised... however...when hunting, the slightest amount of breeze creates a large amount of noise that becomes bothersome after an hour or so. I usually end up taking them off because of this. The ear cups are also a little small for my ears, so I don't get a good fit. If there is no wind, the sound amplification is fantastic. I have not worn them in inclimate (wet) weather, but I would be concerned about their durability in wet conditions.

The electronics are top notch and work great. The stereo sound is a huge plus. Much better than the cheap 20 dollar electronic muffs. The sound suppression is a bit lacking but works ok even while shooting 308. As far as comfort goes it is the best you could expect with "behind the head" muffs.This is the way to go if you want behind the head.

Just got my second set. They work great. I have some hearing loss and they amplify talking. The vinyl ear pads get slick when I sweat but they do a great job. I ordered replacement foam for my first set which still work great. Once you figure out the knack for replacing batteries it's not too bad. Batteries seem to last a long time for me.

They seem like a good product, but they did not work well for me. I have seen fellow USPSA shooters wear them with the connecting strap behind the head, behind the neck, and I find either way to be awkward at best especially with long guns. Even though I have a pretty big head, they always rode low on me, and felt like they were falling off. The batteries are pretty tough to replace as well. Not a total loss for me as I still let my student shooters wear them, which some people love them. Particularly women shooters.

I have used these for a year now - both pistol and rifle. The electronic system works ok, but not great. I ocassionally get excess noise through them, especially if the seal breaks while trying to maintain a good cheekweld on a rifle. Also, they are not very comfortable for me, especially in hot weather. They are ok for the price, but I wish I had bought a better quality set.

I have had these for several years now and they are great! Used them on the range to qualify for my CCW. I could hear every instruction and during volly fire it deadend every shot. As others have said, very lightweight, comfortable, and worth the price. Haven't had to replace the batteries yet but will soon. Buy 'em!

I've had my set about 2 years and have used them probably 50 times, the left ear piece quit working last month and the right ear piece has started buzzing slightly. When they worked they worked great, but I would prefer they had lasted longer.

I like the design and light weightness. The electronic enhancement is very important for hearing, I've decided. The last place I don't want to be able to hear is a shooting range.I wish it was easier to put the batteries in the head set. I get worried, pulling it apart, that I'm going to break or tear them.

Great product!!! The only bad mark is for difficulty in putting the batteries in. 4 out of 5 isn't Bad ... buy a pair today. Great entry level electronic muffs.
