The grip screw bushing ...

The grip screw bushing holes are closed, not open like competing products (i.e. Wilson Combat). You will have to remove the bushings to install the mag well. If you do not have the right tools (bushing staker or bushing driver bit) you may break the bushings. Instead, I tried to open the holes with a Dremel to mimic the WC, but vibration fatigued the thin metal and one side broke off . I decided to Dremel off the side panels completely and screw it with a 4-40 flat head it directly to the mainspring housing, which required careful and patient drilling and tapping. Hey! Have you considered that lanyard loophole sticking out of the mainspring housing? It has to go! Two new problems: Will have to taper the sides of my 8-rd Pro-Mag mags plastic base pads and tap-n-rack won't work well with 7-rd mags w/o plastic bases. But this is the case probably regardless of the mag well. The positive: did not have to Dremel the grips back sides (since I removed the side panels). I've used other Swenson products and they are a good buy. This one can be, too, if you enter with your eyes wide open. Caveat emptor.

This magwell doesn't have ...

This magwell doesn't have a stainless steel finish. It's actually parkerized. The finish on mine was clumpy also.

Swenson mag wells are a ...

Swenson mag wells are a great buy, they give a good deal of strike area for the mag on insertion. The Swenson is not the most expensive but it does function well with little effort to install.
