Product Information

Hornady's V-Max Bullets feature a polymer tip which enhances accuracy and promotes devastating expansion. The tip raises the ballistic coefficient for faster velocity and helps to stabilize the bullet in flight. It also acts as a wedge, initiating bullet expansion.
The copper jacket provides the necessary bearing surface for maximum stability out of the barrel, and the jacket is built to withstand the fast twist rates of the most advanced varmint rifles.

This is not loaded ammunition.

Great bullet in my 25-06

In working up the load for my Ruger M77, 25-06 I got a little discouraged due to 1.5" groups. As the loads began approaching maximum the groups tightened up. At max load of W760 with velocity of 3550 fps, I got single hole 3 shot groups measuring 0.25 inches. Thinking it was statistical luck I loaded some more a couple weeks later and shot one hole groups again. I am very pleased with this bullet!

Fantastic and Devastating. This bullet over IMR4064 pushes 3500fps and holds <1" group at 100 yds. My Marlin XL7 loves these. Drops woodchucks in their tracks. No problem on deer, they never take a step. Amazing bullet.

My only rifle other than a .22 is a 25-06. Thought about getting a 22 Hornet for rabbits and gophers on my property. Then I loaded some of these with 14 gr of Trail Boss. Fills the gap perfectly. 1900 fps, no recoil, no ear muffs. One rifle is still all I need.

In a new Savage 111 I shot a 3 shot group at 100 yards with this little pill over a starting load of IMR 4350. I couldn't believe I shot a .5" group!!! The Vmax is renowned for its hunting ability, and with this accuracy, it just might become my favorite load.

I shot these out of a Tikka T3 25-06 using Varget and the accuracy was unbelievable. By far the best grouping bullet I've tried in this rifle. 3 shots - 1 hole

Iv use these in Australia for shooting Rabbits From a Sako custom .25-222Rem case ( 250MYRA or 25 Copper head All the same thing) My 20" barrel gives me a trundling speed of 2704FPS with 22Gr of RL-7 or H4198 Despite this slower speed the Detonation of Rabbits is just extraordinary, Completely gutting them with a shoulder shot and launching the rest of the body 2 feet into the air due to the Hydrostatic shock that they deliver to the Body, the same results come from my 256H&S Maximum Wildcat

I use this bullet in my Rem Sendero 25-06 over a full load of IMR 4831 running at about 3750 fps. I have tested loads over 3900 fps and the bullet held together just fine. It is the most accurate bullet that I have tested in either of my 25-06s and in my .223. Shoots under 1/4 inch in all of them. I have no trouble at all smacking p-dogs at 500 yards and beyond. This bullet stays accurate at long range, even in the wind.

I have a Browning A-Bolt ...

I have a Browning A-Bolt varmint in 25 WSSM. Out of the box gun using 75gr v-max over Varget powder. I get .665 3 shot groups at 200 yards consistently. Why do anything different? These guys perform.
