The Lyman Turbo 1200 Series Tumblers feature a beefed-up suspension system and built-in "exciters" for better tumbling action and faster cleaning. The drive system has improved air flow for cooling and longer motor life. The PRO Case tumbler bowl system offers a built-in sifter lid for easy sifting of cases and media at the end of the polishing cycle without requiring the additional purchase of a media sifter.

I have to give this product a 5 since it's taken all the abuse I can throw at it for the last few years. I stuff it full of plain old crushed walnut, a dash of mineral spirits and as much brass as will reasonably fit and let it go. I only tumble for an hour, maybe two and my brass always comes out looking nice and shiny. On the really nasty range pickup brass I use wet ceramic media in this tumbler. That is where the abuse part comes in. This thing is not made for wet media, it handles it just fine. Sifter lid, yeah it's dusty. I use it outside of my house. I just set it on the concrete outside the back door. Throw in a used dryer sheet or two to cut down on the dust. I really feel I got more than what I paid for. Now that I've said all these nice things it's going to die.

I've had one of these for about 4 years now, still a sold workhorse. Those guys having trouble with dust in the bowl, put in a old dryer sheet with the media when tumbling, it'll remove that dust and problem solved, re-do it after changing old media.

I was going to give this tumbler 4.5 stars. It works great and does the job it was designed for, but the bloody sifter lid filled my whole basement with a layer of dust. I wish they offered a regular lid option and I would be all over it. The tumbler I have has performed flawlessly. It runs for days at a time and nothing bad has happened to the tumbler or to my cases. I only wish the bowl was larger as I found out that I shoot more than the tumbler can process in a reasonable amount of time. In a normal 1200 tumbler you use 3 pounds of media and 1 pound of brass. To process enough brass for my shooting volume I would need a tumbler that can process 3 pounds of brass at a time. My choice media is 14-20 corn cob (Lyman's Media is 10-14 which is coarser) and I add a powdered brass cleaning compound. Run the brass for 2 hours and it is clean. Then I run it through untreated cob for a polish with just a squirt of Brasso and I get the shiniest cases ever. Conclusion: if you don't have a Lyman 1200 tumbler, get one, preferably with a solid lid.

Although this unit is a little noisier than I'd like, it has been an absolute workhorse. If I had to guess, mine has probably seen 400+ hours of use and tens of thousands of cases. As long as you're using decent polish and media, you won't be disappointed. I do agree with other users that a solid lid would be nice, but definitely not a deal breaker. If the one I have now ever craps out, I'll likely buy another.

Great tumbler. Cases picked up from an outdoor range, many of which are tarnished badly, are very clean in 2 to 3 hours. Using the sifter lid does create a lot of dust. Unlike some of the other reviews I have not had any trouble with it walking. Make sure the surface that it is run on is level and I don't think you'll have a walking problem. I would buy this tumbler again and recommend it.

I used to borrow an autoflo 1200 and I think the sifter works even better. My cases would stand on end full of media with the autoflo. Reliable and quiet. Great product from Lyman. 1000 rds cleaned so far!

I purchased this tumbler back in April of 2011 and have used it to clean thousands of 9mm and 45acp cases. It's pretty quiet, built well, and simple to use. There are only two things I wish it had, an on/off switch and a solid lid to go with the sifter lid. These are by no means a deal breaker and would not prevent me from buying another. For the price you really can't go wrong.

I have been using my Turbo 1200 for a couple of months now. I like the strainer lid and have not experienced any dust problems. It is less noisy than my previous tumbler and does a great job. My only complaint is the lack of an inline switch but for .75 cents I spliced one into the cord and now I have no complaints what so ever.
