I purchased the UMC ammo ...

I purchased the UMC ammo for the purpose of training. I attended a 3 day tactical pistol class and fired close to 1000 rounds. The ammunition performed very well.I experienced no malfunctions with the weapons system or defects with the ammunition. I will be purchasing Remington UMC ammunition from Midway to take to my next training class. Thanks for keeping the price within my budget.

Used this ammo and 4 ...

Used this ammo and 4 other brands to break in a Taurus PT 1911. The Remington UMC gave the second best performance with 3" groups at 25 yards. No failures or ejection problems and shot very clean.

Great training ammo for ...

Great training ammo for the price. Has the Remington name to stand behind it. So, it's a little more dirty than the expensive brands. That's why God made Hoppe's #9. Shoots great in all my 1911 models. This is NOT a target round. It IS a great round for combat aciton shooting. Combat action occurs often within 5-7'. Great round for this type of training. I'll buy Remington UMC at this price all day long.

Bought 500 rounds hoping ...

Bought 500 rounds hoping this would be my new range and practice ammunition for my 1911 Kimber Ultra, and every time after every 3 - 5 rounds my pistol would not eject empty brass and jam next load. Very disappointing. Might be good for other guns but Kimber 1911's do not work with it.

I love this ammo. I've never had a problem with this, or any other Remington ammo. I've bought other brands of ammo that have not had consistent quality. Remington ammo has always been good for me. I use it as much as I can, almost exclusively.

I can't get this ...

I can't get this ammunition to feed into a 1911 magazine of any kind. The bullet nose is not rounded like a 230 gr FMJ and hangs up on any 1911 clip. I am trying to get Remington to take it back a defective ammunition but getting them to reply is about like getting the IRS to reply when they owe you money. For a 1911 DO NOT BUY THIS AMMO.

I always thought that ...

I always thought that Remington is top quality. Recent experience has challenged that. Recently used 9mm in a CZ-P01 and after a number of FTF(fail to feed) issues discovered a large number of CZ forum users reported difficulties with Remington UMC brand. Now breaking in a new 1911, the Remington UMC is creating some problems with feeding. I have gauged the ammo with a "Max Cartridge Gauge" and found the ammo to be overall correctly sized. I think it has something to do with rim dimensions being out of spec.I assume that the manufacturing machine tolerances are not closely enough monitored or the machinery is old and wearing out. Seems to work better in Glock and XD pistols which have loose extractor fit. Glocks and XDs are extremely reliable but Remington has gone on my do not buy list.

I ran these through my Springfield 1911 and while the feeding/cycling went well, I noticed that the rounds left the barrel pretty dirty and while accuracy wasn't "bad" in my opinion...it also wasn't that great...close to 3.5 inches at the 25 yard line. But for short range practice with a 1911 style handgun, I'd use it again eventually.

I have shot around 5 ...

I have shot around 5 boxes through my Glock 30 and I have never had any problems with this ammo. It wasn't very dirty and shot very accurate. I always shoot 25 yards with my Glock but like I said accuracy is great.
