Product Information

Remington cartridge cases are carefully drawn from specially-alloyed brass to provide consistently exact internal volume and resistance to case stretching and brittleness. Primer pocket tolerances are held to .001", and closely monitored case neck annealing ensures easier re-sizing and longer reloading life. New, unprimed brass. This is not loaded ammunition. Bulk brass should be full-length sized, trimmed and chamfered before loading.

Preparation:

Due to the manufacturing process and/or shipping, case mouths may not be perfectly round. To ensure a round case mouth, cases must be sized (or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through case neck) and deburred/Chamfered prior to loading.

Notes:

A light "staining" may be found on the case neck of new brass. This is due to annealing. Annealing is a process, performed by the manufacturer, which involves rapid heating to a specified temperature followed by rapid cooling. This process imparts cases with the proper hardness to securely hold a bullet as well as gives flexibility to expand and contract upon firing and repeated forming. The "staining" is a residue from this process. This stain may be removed by tumbling before loading.

I shoot a LR F-Class ...

I shoot a LR F-Class rifle in competition. After following the "Experts" advice on necking up Lapua .243 brass to build ammo, I tried some Remington factory .260 brass. After weight-sorting the brass and following my normal reloading processes, I have found it to be highly accurate with low runout, and have shot High Master scores at 1000 yards with this brass.

I have not fired this brass yet and I'm not sure if I want to bother with it - I'm a target shooter and the flash holes punched in these cases are all out of center by a blatantly noticeable amount. I will try to send back and try something else.

Here is why I have only used Remington brass in my 260 Remington rifle;

When I bought my 260 Remington (M 700 SS DBM) in 1997, factory ammunition was scarce, velocity low, and accuracy was disappointing at best and reloading data was non existent.

I was soon able to obtain reloading dies from RCBS and sent an email to Hodgdon with an urgent plea for help.

I received a prompt reply stating that they had no 260 Remington data available for publication, but offered a few suggestions for 120 and 140 gr. bullets.

Almost immediately my oversized paperweight became a consistent one MOA rifle.

Having owned at least two dozen factory rifles and years of experimentations, I know that it is highly unlikely to improve on the accuracy of this rifle without several expensive modifications.

This is why I purchased the 500 piece box of 260 Remington brass.

My rifle likes it, and so do I.

Started out using Nosler brass and tried these when i finally found them not sold out. I am staying with Remington. Nosler brass for me didn't hold up.

I bought 200 of these a ...

I bought 200 of these a couple of years ago. I used three cases to work up my load & sight in my rifle ( Rem. 700 24" Bbl. ). These three cases have been shot at least 8 times. I have found if you stay with in recomended presures they last & last. I loaded right out of the bag. No sorting, no sizing. Just loaded & shot. My rifle with 130gr Barnes Triple Shock shoots into tiny little groups. I get honest 1/2" to 3/4" reguraly. If any have had of center flash holes I can't see it makes any difference.

I just got a box of 100 ...

I just got a box of 100 of these cases to go with my new DPMS 260 upper and so far am quite pleased with them. I also have 200 of the Nosler cases on back order but bought these since they were available now, I sat last night and deburred all the flasholes which they all needed but otherwise the cases appear to all be in top condition. I only bought 100 of these due to the mixed reviews but I'm glad I did. While I am still going to buy the Nosler brass when it comes in I came back tonight to order another 300 of these. For the price of these compared to the Nosler I figure I can use these for general practice and use the Nosler when I'm shooting in a match or hunting with them.Overall though this is nice brass, the case necks are sound, (no cracked or split necks) I weighed a few of them and they were consistent enough to make me happy for plinking brass. Case length on the ones I checked was within specs.I will run these cases through a full length die before loading them the first time but overall I'm quite happy with them. I tend to agree with some of the others here, If your looking for brass to use for shooting in matches with then I suggest either Lapua or Nosler. If all you need is brass for plinking paper then this is a economical choice to use for that .Overall though Im happy with this brass. RemMax

Out of a 100 piece lot I ...

Out of a 100 piece lot I found two with flash holes off center. No big deal as there were 104 pieces in the "100 piece" box. Weight sorting of 500 pieces had only two pieces outside of my target 2 grain window. A little more "work" with virgin brass compared to higher end stuff, but as long as the long awaited Lapua .260 brass is TWICE the cost, I think Ill stick with Remington.

Bought 100 of these, they ...

Bought 100 of these, they were all the same length and the flash holes were all dead center. Using them in a AR 10 rifle, rifle is hard on brass but thats any brass I use. Getting 1/2 moa at a 100 yards. Shooting 140 SMK that I moly coated with 7828, best spread I got was 2610 fps over a five shot group, saw no difference in neck up 243 Lapua brass but I am not a pro :)

Had about 200 out of 500 ...

Had about 200 out of 500 with flash holes severely off center. Midway replaced the rejects. Remington should implement some quality control. It sounds like others have had the same problem. Lowered my confidence in a U.S.A. company.

This brass has been good ...

This brass has been good for me. Used it during a precision rifle course and had no problems. I will buy more of this brass.
