Fits great in my factory stock. It's just a hex-head screw, but I like it much better than the factory one. Before I was always worried about stripping the head of the factory screw before I got it tight enough. Now I have to be careful not to get it too tight. It is a simple easy and economical way to make breaking down your 10/22 that much easier and hassle-free.

I have a use for this on my MOA brand stainless steel action, for the rear mounting screw. As this is too short. With a shank length of .850 of an inch,or about 7/8 of an inch.From the underside of head of the Screw. It is too short to use with the Front screw for both my Fajen, and Boyds Laminated stocks.

Using this on both a factory carbine stock and an older Fajen laminate stock and works great in both cases have at least 4 threads deep in each. Not much more can be said about it - it's a screw - but it does prevent stripping out the factory slotted screw head.

Screw head sheared off ...

Screw head sheared off with only a few in/lb's of torque. Had to remove the screw from gun with an eazy out. These are defective / poor quality. I returned defective product with a formal letter to Volquartsen customer service and they brushed me off.

Works great in the Boyd SS Evolution stock. The hex screw is a lot less scary than the slotted factory screw.

Well got it into my stock ...

Well got it into my stock but it won't back out. Finish is fine and I do like the hex head rather than the slotted but figure I'll have to use a dremel tool to cut the head off if I ever what to remove the screw from the stock. I would not buy another one based the performance of this one.

Really like the idea of an Allen head screw, but this thing just won't work at all. Some of the other reviewers said it was too short, but I didn't get a chance to find that out, it won't even screw into my stock past the threaded area, it just tightens up and stops! So this is a DON'T BUY!!!
