Ballistol Sportsman's Gun Oil is all-natural, non-toxic and does not lose its ability to lubricate even when mixed with water. Cleans black powder residue and is not petro-chemical based, so it will not affect a "seasoned" muzzleloader or black powder cartridge gun.

I like Ballistol. I like the coating it leaves on certain gun parts when actively use my guns. It's got some real staying power. I pour some in a 4 oz spouted squeeze dispenser bottle.A few things people should know - it's not a storage lube. It's not a water barrier. It's not the best cleaner, but it's again fine for a quick mop and dry during active gun usage. There is one thing that some people should be aware of - if you pour some out into a container, to soak some parts - do it in a well ventilated place. The stuff makes me actually gag and hack. I would say all gun owners should own Ballistol. Even when I do an annually copper clean, with other nastier products, I follow with Ballistol as a rinse clean after drying.

I buy the "bulk" can and put it in one of my Baker poly squeeze bottles for use.
This is a fantastic all around product. Lubes, cleans, works wonders on my semi-autos for lubricant, and makes carbon clean up easier too!
I for one like the smell, which does dissipate after a short time.
I can't believe it took me so long to try it.

This stuff works great. Cleans everything. Works on everything. Doesn't seem to harm a thing I use it on polymer, steel, stainless steel, etc. And it doesn't smell bad either. Definite must have for cleaning your gun!

It softens carbon, cleans firearms, leaves a good film of lube which stays on, and is also good for your leather holster. I won't say it is a replacement for your best bore solvents, but it is possibly the best all around cleaner and lube. I highly recommend it.

Been a hoppes guy all my life but this stuff is amazing for cleaning and lubrication. I never liked to use "break free" or "gun scrubber" solvents but had to on occasion to get my firearms factory clean. This stuff does the job without the worry of stripping lubrication in the field when I'm away from my cleaning bench.

Ballistol is the best for BP

If Mike "Iron Duke" Venturino uses this stuff why don't you? I have been using this for some time now on both a 74 sharps and a SAA that I shoot nothing but BP out of. For the SAA I take a baking dish big enough to hold the gun and then boil enough water to fill the dish. Mix in some Ballistol then submerge the gun in it, minus the grips. Let soak for 15 min. or so then pull the gun out and hang up to drip dry. Since the water was boiling the drying time is very short. Wipe down your gun and run a few patches thru the bore and your done. When the water evaporates the Ballistol goes back to its original state and every nook and cranny of the weapon is left with a light coating of lube on it. I've never had a problem with corrosion either. When hunting in wet weather with my shotgun, I'll wipe it down with Ballistol so even if it gets wet, when it drys the lubricant is still there protecting the firearm. Great Stuff, its all I use anymore.

I have a Mauser K98k and I shoot LOTS of surplus ammo through it. Normally with Hoppe's and numerous other cleaners I would spend around thirty to forty cleaning just to make sure that there were no salts left over from primers. With Ballistol I spent only fifteen minutes on it and the barrel was clean. I will buy more now that I have a cleaner that takes care of the corrosive primers.

I'll admit I'm a huge sucker for the perfect Cleaner, hence I own just about all of them. I've spent hundreds. Any way I have an old Savage model 24 that i just couldn't get clean. Carbon build up on the lands that I tried everything on and nothing would remove it. So what the heck,I bought Ballistol. I think it's the only cleaner that I don't own. Guess what? After three applications and a very little elbow grease and NO bore brush, the carbon build up is completely gone. It just melted the carbon away. I used it on my other firearms that were supposedly spotless and it also got some more crud off these as well. I'm sold, it's what I'll be using from now on.

Great stuff. My wife hates the smell so I might just use it as an after shave. It is an all-purpose cleaner/lubricant. I use the stuff on my Mosins, Mausers and other wood stocked items. It's perfect for old leather and keeps the old weapons clean and corrosion free. I understand it was used in WW I as a German wound dressing....makes sense to me. I have been using this for well over 20 years and am grateful to Bernie for clueing me in. Use the spray version...much easier to apply

This product is amazing. Made in the USA is a plus. The odor never bothered me at all. Use it on my gen4 Glock and it does the job easily to clean & lube. Had a door hinge that was squeaky, used Ballistol on that too. So many uses for this fine product. Midway shipping & customer service is the best!!

I've used this on so many things - from bee stings to keeping flies off my dog's cuts, to keeping power tools running better. Once a year, I spray the garage door rails for a smooth roll. Please don't limit yourself just to gun cleaning -- although it's magnificent for that, of course.
