Product Information

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight, making them a superb choice for hunting. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

Shot very well in my custom Rem 700 358 Norma Mag. However, it took a lot of cleaning to get the copper out of the bore. Have not tried them on game yet.

This bullet shoots well even better than the Nosler BT in my hunting rifle with a fairly fast twist 1/12, 34" carbon graphite barrel at 3515 over a chrono in a six string av. Could be because of bullet bearing length or solid copper composition.

At the risk of repeating myself....Barnes, Barnes, Barnes. Quality you can count on every time. I just completed my 14th straight 1 shot kill with this bullet out of my .358 Win @ 2450 FPS from a 21 inch barrel. My load is a hefty dose of IMR 3031, w/o any signs of pressure. Last beastie to fall was largest Blackie killed in New Brunswick in the spring of 10. Never moved from his shadow. The flat base that doesn't takes up less space than B.T. is just made for this smaller Case. Barnes please never change, and Midway please always stock.

I purchased this bullet for my Rem. 700 classic .35 Whelen. I loaded it to 2775 fps with Reloder 15 and it shoots sub MOA groups! So far I have taken 4 elk in as many years with this load and all have gone down to a single shot. I have not recovered a single bullet. It has broken both shoulders and passed through, a hit in the chest while facing me penetrated all the way to the far flank (over 3 ft of penetration) and the other 2 simply slid through the ribs. In all cases the chest was filled with soup, the heart and lungs destroyed. The shots ranged from just over 100 yards to slightly over 300 yards. This is as good as it gets!

I have a 340 Weatherby and load the 225 Barnes X to 2944 FPS, consistently shoots 1/2" 3 shot groups. I shot through 2 large wild hogs, bullet went completely through both hog's shoulders. I'm taking on a brown bear hunt next.

I used these bullets in a custom .350 Remington Magnum built by Bill Wiseman for a trophy boar hunt in south Georgia. Trophy boar have a well deserved reputation for toughness and difficulty to bring down. My rifle has a custom magazine which allows this long bullet to be seated to an overall length of 2.9 inches. A near maximum load of 49 grains of RL-7 produced 1 MOA 3-shot groups at 100 yards. I took a broadside shot on a 350 pound hog at 70 yards which completely penetrated both sides of the chest. The boar ran about 80 yards and collapsed with a quarter sized exit wound. A friend needed 4 well placed shots with a factory 220 grain .30-06 load to finally take his hog after a 45 minute wounded pursuit. I highly recommend this Barnes bullet for any large, tough game of this type. Barnes bullets rule!!

I love the Triple Shock ...

I love the Triple Shock Series. I harvested a nice 185lb whitetail buck two weeks ago with this bullet in my Ruger #1, 35 Whelen using BL-C2 and CCI BR2 it moved it along at 2824fps average. The buck I harvested this year went about 10 yards from where he was hit. 3.5" exit wound, lungs were both wrecked. The energy this bullet delivers is amazing. Beautiful Deer and beautiful results again for the TSX.Last year used a 140gr TSX in my .270 and harvested a nice doe and a nice bull moose with my 45-70 with the 300gr. TSX.

I used this bullet in my Remington M700 CDL 35 Whelen. I used R15 and easily got over 2700 FPS with the load. That is 338 Win Mag territory, plus recoil was easily manageable. I got about 1 MOA out of the rounds. I took this rifle and bullet to Idaho in the fall of 07 for Elk, Deer and Bear. I shot a medium sized black bear (200-225lbs) in the right front shoulder, quartering towards me. After skinning and quartering the bear I finally found the bullet lodged in the hide in the rear left. It had traveled a long way and the bear never took a step after the shot (50 yards). The bullet was in perfect shape, minus one petal broken off. I have used Barnes against Elk, Moose, Deer and Caribou and the bullet just flat out performs really well. If your rifle shoots them, I would say to use them. They are the standard I use to rate other bullets. I cannot say enough good things about them. I plan on loading the 200 grain TSX's in my 358 Win for another Elk buster. Scotty

So far, my best accuracy is with bullets seated slightly FURTHER from lands than the recommended start point. 0.86" 100-yd 3-shot groups from an old reclaimed Remington M760 rebarreled in 35 Whelan. Yes, I'm smiling. An accurate pump thumper! The combo gets to prove itself in the woods this fall, but I think it's a keeper.
