The Tubb 2000 is a great ...

The Tubb 2000 is a great upgrade for the Remington 721 & 722. The instructions could be improved such as a well thought out print with several views. I've installed two and find it's a simple machining job for any competent machinist with a Bridgeport and a V block. The need to have a Gunsmith install this extractor is overkill, costly and time consuming. If I were to pick up another Rem 721 I'd install a Tubb 2000 in a heartbeat.

Instructions could have ...

Instructions could have been a little more clear, but it was still easy to install. You need a mill, first to cut a slot and then to drill 2 holes. Anyone with access to a mill and able to figure out the drawing can do this. Once installed it works just fine! Grabs the case rim easily and it sure won't break like the stock part.The only thing I am unhappy with is that I cut the slot a half thou' or so too deep. No big issue except if I remove the bolt to show someone and then most likely it is mainly noticeable to me. If I did another one (which I would do in a heartbeat if I had to) I would cut the slot to 3/4 the depth, drill the hole for the end of the extractor, then make small cuts, checking extractor fit after each pass. It would look perfect then.Overall, I'd give it an easy 5 stars if the instructions were less cryptic. Since there are only a few steps a picture showing each step would help quite a few people out I'm sure.
