What a nice surprise for ...

What a nice surprise for the price. The optics are very clear and the reticle very sharp and easily focused. The adjustable objective works all the way down to 25 feet with complete clarity, which I find amazing. It also is accurately marked as when set at 25 yards for the indoor range I visit it is perfectly focused. I have it mounted on a DPMS LR 308 and the eye relief is plenty. The windage and elevation turrets have a handy little protrusion to keep you from having to search for a dime for adjustment. They adjust smoothly and accurately with a nice positive click. Absolutely a great buy at this price.

This is a nice scope, but understand it is a Simmons and you are getting pretty much what you pay for. The mil-dot apparently works at 14x, rather than the 10x that is more common. The 14x mark on the zoom is in red and I was told by a rep. in Simmons tech support that this was the reason it is red. However, they didn't sound like they really understood the question. The eye-relief is pretty poor, especially at the higher settings and I was getting halo effect at 20x. Still, for the sale price of $125 it's ok. I only bought it to play with a mil-dot. My past experience with durability for Simmons is mixed. As long as you understand that it is not a Leupold-class optic, it's fine. It has held zero through about 100 rounds over three different sessions just fine.

This Scope is great for the money hold's zero iam all ways in the woods iam rough on my hunting gear and still has zero i will be buying a second one for 22-250. the scope is very bitght and clear even low light and focus is nice easy to use. some post says that the cross hairs are to big not by any means to big this scope is a great buy and very good scope for the money.....Looks good too with the 4" sunshade

This is a great scope for the price! I own two, one is mounted on my 7mm mag and the other on a 300 Win mag. Holds zero and dead on accuracy. Have shot hundreds of rounds between each rifle and still have not let me down so far. Highly recommend this scope for the price.

Been using the whitetail classic mil-dot and truplex reticle 6.5-20x50mm scopes from the time simmons first introduced them. Have them on all of my rifles, great scope, never have had a problem one with any of them which is 7 .

This isn't a $500-$2500 ...

This isn't a $500-$2500 scope. It wasn't meant to be, either. It's great for a $150 scope. Is it as clear as, say, a Nightforce? No. But I cannot afford a Nightforce scope. This serves my purpose quite well. Decent crosshairs for shooting .75" shoot'n'sees at 100 yards. The 50mm objective on it makes it pretty bright as well. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the adjustment clicks aren't quite as positive as I would like. It is 1 click per 1/4 inch, but I'd like it to be a bit more... firm in its clicks.

Very good bang for your buck! I have not had any problems holding zero, the lenses are very clear didn't see any imperfections, all the adjustments are very smooth, and I got it to fit without getting taller rings.

For the money, it does a darn good job. I'm not sure why some folks are saying the mil-dot reticle is too thick at higher magnification. I've tried it out and had no problems seeing the target at 500 yards. Holds zero just fine on my .223.

For me the reticle is too thick to be useful on anything other than large game. The Army style mil dots seem almost completely absorbed by the crosshairs and the power ring must be set 14x to use the mil dot system, At this magnification there is not enough eye relief to keep from getting scope bite on occasion from my 30-06. On sale it is ok for the money but I would never pay full price for this scope. As a note: 1 Mil = 3.6" @ 100yds, the dots should be .2 mil and the crosshairs are at least half as thick as the dots. I might put it on my 10/22 for short range estimation practice.
