Product Information

This caller uses compact digital memory cards for simple operation. Bobcat #1, Coyote #2 and Predator #2 memory cards with 4 calls each are included, other memory cards are sold separately. Handheld, weather-resistant keypad has a 100 yard range. Includes all-weather speaker with a 10' cord that connects the speaker to the speaker base. This allows the speaker to be placed at an elevated position with the base safely on the ground. Requires four AA batteries (not included).

Good system, I've used it a few times to call but I've not been successful in dropping any furry criters yet. I did buy a new cassette for the unit but the sounds don't play unless I pull the card out then re-insert it into the unit. Overall sound, wireless range, and fit/finish are exceptional. The new card problems are my only complaint. 4 stars.

Update from 2009 review: I have had very bad luck with the unit in temperatures under 25F. Quite often I found myself getting up from position to go back out to the caller to tinker with it to get it to turn on. For whatever reason, I found that when I had this problem that I had to turn the unit off, remove all the cards, reinstall them, and turn the unit back on. Sometimes several times. I also found that the on/off switch in colder temps would not turn the unit on. Basically, in the late season, this unit is undependable to me when the coyotes are the most nervous. Not a good mix. That's too bad, I really like Johnny Stewart sounds. Went with a Foxpro Spitfire and haven't had any issues yet including using it in single digit temperatures.

I have had this caller since it first came out. Mine can be really picky about seating of the sound cards in one of the slots--it seems to disable the unit completely and at random on a very occasional basis. It can take a few minutes of fooling with it to get it working, so I just leave the cards alone after testing it at home. I haven't used it very much, but my nephew hunted it off and on for a year and said it did well for him. Other than that, I like it pretty well.

I have owned one of these Calls since they were first put on the Market. I have found it to be an excellent Call. I use mine to Call Crows, Coyotes, and Wild Hogs, and have had excellent results. We kill Crows out of Pecan Orchards, for the protection of the nuts, and kill about a 1000 each year. I had a problem with one of the original cards, but have been able to continue using it until a replacement arrived. I like mine so well that I purchased another one this year as a back-up, but have not had to open it yet. My likes for this caller is based on excellent service from a caller that is well used and abused by myself and my hunting partners. I strongly recommend it to someone looking for a good caller.

I have had my PM-4 for 3 years and it still works. I have to make sure the switch is on by pushing it to the max. Carry a paper clip to hit the reset button on the back. I have to go out to where it is stationed many a time to reset or hit the on button or slide the cartridge in and out to get it to work on all stations. I found hanging it in a bush or tree of the ground is the way to get it to work from a long distance. The sounds are good for crow, coyote, fox, and bobcat. Takes a lot of fidgeting to make sure it works on each stand. Change batteries out about every third stand.

I have used this game call for over a year now. It's deadly on crows, calls them in every time. Combine this with an Owl decoy and the Crow Owl fight call, it holds the Crows long enough to get off several shots. The batteries do go down very quickly if you leave them in the unit. The remote is excellent out to about 125 yards on level terrain. Overall I rate it very high.

I had to fix the remote before using because the card kept sliding out. The range is not close to the 250 yds claimed, more like 50. It is hard to change the sounds unless the caller is close with fresh batteries without raising the remote over your head. Other than that it works. The first day out I called two coyotes within 50 yds while sitting in the truck waiting to go out, and a handful more within 30yds while out hunting.

Good caller. My first time out calling coyotes I got two owls that went at the speaker. No coyote, but very quick results, like within 10 minutes or less on the owls. Geat customer service on the equipment as well.

I reveived my JS call about this time last year. Tried it in the house and the calls sounded very good. Started using it in the fall of 2010 and found out that if you didn't take the battery out of the transmitter it would run the battery down in a week also with the receiver switched off the battery would go down in about a month.. One channel quit working. The sound is not loud enough. The sounds are great. Of course it has been too long for warranty.

I had bought two other more expensive calls and have returned them both. I feel this unit for the price and performance blows them away. I use it with a motion decoy and it works great. I highly recommend this product. Well worth the money.
