These turned out to be just the thing for an old Gewehr 88 that had been re-arsenaled in Turkey. The bore slugs at .324." These bullets shoot well in front of a light charge of H4895. They also do well in my Yugo M48.

I have been using this one for many years on deer, I feel that it is an excellent weight retention. No matter what angle or condition we have been able to shoot the deer every time with it. We have tried other brands and don't feel that we have got the same results. I would highly recommend this bullet.

Work well out of my 1944 K98. Taken several hogs with this bullet. As other reviews have stated the core and jacket seperate at close range, but always put bacon in the freezer. I will continue to use.

This 150 gr bullet, loaded with Winchester 748, will group 1" or less from my M48 Yugo Mauser. Recoil and blast are light too. I believe the 1-in-9.25 rate of twist of the rifle is best suited for the 150 gr bullet loaded to max speed. I tested surplus ammo and this bullet/velocity combo simulates the original military load. I've tried heaver bullets in this rifle and never could get a grouping less than 2".

I would not push these ...

I would not push these very fast, at 8mm Mauser velocity's they work alright but lose a lot of their weight and are on the verge of separating from the jacket. In wet newspaper these bullets expanded to an average diameter of .55in and retained 95gr +/-. Wound track was extensive and at medium range I am sure these bullets would hold together just fine. The interlocks have given me poor penetration(with lots of jacket-core separation) in other faster calibers(25-06 117gr is the worst). Accuracy with these are much better than the Nosler ballistic tips, but the ballistic tip is a tougher and heavier bullet.

Shoots just over 1/2 MOA (at average 2740fps from a 20in barrel) in my customized 8mm-06 FN Mauser. I have not tried it on game so I gave it 4 stars.

I use this w/47grains IMR 3031. It has put a lot of vension in the freezer. Good expansion and penetration. It has no problems with ribs or shoulders, even broke the spine on one. Leaves a nice big hole on the other side. I wouldn't use anything else with my 8mm.

These are great, and competitively priced. I am getting less than 1 inch groups at 100 yards with a sporterized M48, but I am confident they will do better after my rifle is glass bedded and I do more load development.

Consistancy is very good. I am shooting 1 MOA with IMR 4895 at 2700fps in a YZ 24/52C Mauser. See the Sierra 50th book for this most accurate load. The canelure allows a nice roll crimp. The smaller 24/52C action works great with these Hornady 150g Spire Points, where larger round nose bullets tend to bind it. Even though the energy is still 1000 foot pounds at 340 yards, the rifle kicks very little with this load. It's fun to shoot. I have not shot a Deer with one yet, so I cannot remark on terminal ballistics.

Good bullet if you don't eat what you shoot. Very accurate, great knockdown power but ruins a lot of meat. I used this bullet in my 8mm mauser behind 52.0 grains IMR 4064 with remington primers.
