I'll second what the ...

I'll second what the others said about these kits not locking back Springfield 1911's with the stock Metalform mags. I tried three different mags and two 1911's- same result. The stock Wilson 8 rounder mags work fine for me however, and I will continue to use those.

I purchased 2 of these ...

I purchased 2 of these kits to replace 2 seven round Springfield magazine internals (spring and follower). The Wilson kits would not lock the slide open. Checked with Wilson and they told me it should lock open the slide. I have Springfield, Chip McCormick and surplus mags and they all work fine. The followers on the Wilson kits are plastic and shaped entirely different from the others. I was very disappointed!

These kits work great for ...

These kits work great for officer's mags, they feed and function perfectly. However, recently I tried some in Govt size mags and although they fed perfectly the week springs were not strong enough to lock open any of my guns when empty. Great for officer's mags, but avoid for Govt & Comm size mags.

Not the quality I ...

Not the quality I expected from Wilson. The follower needed to be just a little longer to avoid a gap with the bottom of it and the magazine. I just didn't trust it. It needed to be longer and only hold 7 rounds instead of shorter and holding 8 rounds. I sent my 2 back for a refund.

These kits are the best. I was afraid of the plastic follower, but it plenty tough. Turned two cruddy Kim-Pro mags into gold. I will likely switch a few more just to add the extra round.

My 3 Kimber 8-round ...

My 3 Kimber 8-round magazines would conistently fail to feed after shooting 50 rounds in them. I changed the factory follower and spring with the Wilson Combat Magazine Follower and Spring. Now, all my magazines work flawlessly. I have never had any failures to feed since putting them in and going through 300 rounds everytime I go to the range.

I picked up three of ...

I picked up three of these kits to upgrade some mags for my Colt Lightweight Officer's model. I installed two kits in Colt factory mags, and one in a metalform mag. Both types of magazines work flawlessly. The kit converts the shorter Officer mags into a 7 round magazine. I haven't tried it in the standard 1911 7 round mags, but I'm sure they will work fine with them too.
