I bought these rings to ...

I bought these rings to put on a ruger 10-22 tactical stock with a bushnell trophy xlt rifle scope 3-9x40mm.I really liked how the rings went on my weaver rail very snug and the four point of fastening are excellent for holding the scope to zero. But I can only see about a 1/4 inch under my 40mm scope probably work better on 30mm or less. So I think that could be my error. Over all great mounts.

I bought these rings a little more than a year ago from Midway.These rings are absolutely perfect on my Ruger Mk3 .22 cal Bull barrel pistol. I mounted a Vortex pistol scope from Midway and can hit 10 shot groups within a nickel from a 27 yard rest. The rings and scope have never loosened after firing thousands of rounds. I opted for these rings because I did not want to lose the ability to utilize the pistols iron sights. I meticulously filed a notched/section of the cross block bolts down to the exact width and surface plane of the Ruger rail, leaving the roundish-squarish portion of the bolts un-filed through the rings bolting holes. Plenty of steel remains, near 80% on the cross block bolts for superior strength. The pistol shoots perfectly with the iron sights and the open view these rings provide is perfect.If for some reason the scope is knocked out of whack, I can easily use the regular iron sights as a back up in a hurry without any obstructed view.So, the breakdown is: All purchased from Midway1. These rings.2. Vortex Crossfire Pistol Scope 2x 20mm Plex Reticle Matte3. Volquartsen V-Comp Compensator with Front Sight Bull Barrel Ruger Mark II, III.4. Shooters Ridge Steady Point Pistol Shooting Rest5. The smallest targets you can find.6. A 27 yard distance or larger shooting range.Tip: If the Volquartsen V-Comp fits a bit loose, mine did. I used a little High Temp Wood Stove Paint and brushed it inside the comp's walls to build the surface up. After a few coats and 90 percent dry, rubber hammered it on the barrel and used permanent lock tight on the screw. This comps on permanent and has never shaken loose. A guaranteed recipe for your pistol to shoot like a winner, everytime.
