These grips are very well made and quite comfortable. They look like they will be low profile but this is not the case ... they have traded that for the comfort. If these are for a range piece, then I'd give them 5 stars. If it is for a carry piece, then you should probably look elsewhere - maybe at mak-a-wrap. That's what I was looking for when I stopped by here.

I absolutely love this ...

I absolutely love this grip on my Mak. The stock grips may be better for ccw because of the skinny profile, but shooting comfort is greatly improved by this grip. That, to me, is worth the extra bulk. I would highly recommend it.

The product is very well ...

The product is very well made, however it turns the highly-concealable Makarov into a bulky weapon. With this grip installed, it is almost exactly the same size as a CZ82. The grip feels good in the hand, but in my experience (your mileage will vary) it causes me hold the weapon with a high-grip (much like a Glock), which in turn makes my thumb trip the safety. At first I thought the weapon was malfunctioning, until I found the cause. Not a comfortable thought if the weapon is used for self defense. I have since reverted to using the factory grips. For SD, it is hard to beat the commie-grips with a Hogue Handall Jr. The Pearce grip is well made but I cannot recommend it for a serious weapon. It is a range-addition AT BEST.

I have to say I love this ...

I have to say I love this grip. I went out firing my Mak with the stock grips and my hand hurt. I was also firing some higher caliber weapons that did not hurt at all. The range officer said it was because the stock grip on the Mak was too small for my hand. I LOVE this new grip just do not tighten the replacement screw too tight cuz it will bind on the mags!!

This grip is great! It significantly improves the feel of my Russian made Makarov and the grip being slightly larger fits my hand well also. Easy to install, simply take 1 screw out of your existing grip and slip the old grip off and slip the new one on. Be careful to not run the screw in too far when reinstalling the screw. Also, you should be careful when reinserting the magazine to be sure it doesn't hang up on the grip screw.

makes very slim pistol fat - at least 1/4" thicker than factory. does seem to point better. will have to take to range and try both grips. for carry, will probably go back to original grips

These grips are an absolute must for Russian Makarovs. Mine had a certain "bite" to it when fired due to the rather squared shape of the factory grip. This grip duplicates the look of the factory grips, albeit with a more graceful rounded shape and tighter checkering which along with the soft rubber material makes the gun much easier to hold. It does increase the size of the gun somewhat, but this only helps to make an overly smallish gun fit well in the hand. Does not have a lanyard loop like the original, but for me this is hardly an issue.

Just placed these on my ...

Just placed these on my Mak today. What a difference these grips make. I don't see any problem with CCW. The only concern is not to tighten the screw too far in because you will enter the magazine chamber and could foul your mags trying to load or unload them from the gun.
