Being arthritic creats ...

Being arthritic creats some problems for me when assemblying any new product; but this one took me an extended time as the threads didn't seem to be very clean.After putting it together, I found that I couldn't use it in the house with my air pistol due to the large gaps located on both sides of the trap. I am confident that if used with a .22 cal firearm, enough of the bullet could escape the trap at velocity to be very dangerous to someone away from the shooting area. The specs on the individual parts don't appear to be very close;[QUALITY CONTROL] varying as much as 3/32" from one end to the other. I have no doubt the trap is strong enough to do its job if properly fitted; my solution to the gaps in mine will probably be runing a weld down both sides to fill the gap; assuming I don't eventually hear from the mfg'er! After serving as both an NRA and OKANG CATM NCO, I tend to be overly cautious about bullets leaving the range; and I can say without a doubt; at least with this particular trap, it will happen. I did attempt to make contact with the company on several occasions by phone this past Thur/Fri with no results other than the proverbial "Your call is important..." but no one ever answered the phone to speak with me. I had one of these about ...

I had one of these about 15 years ago and from a distance of about 20 to 25 yards a small piece of 22 lr bullet flew back and hit me in the forehead and I had just a little bleeding. I put an old rag in the trap to prevent this and didn't have any more problem after that. (A knowledgeable gun store owner recomended this.)I'm thinking about getting another one for 22 cb longs in my basement. 22 long rifle use would just be by myself, with glasses, with a bigger backstop also.

Well made from heavy ...

Well made from heavy steel, easy to put together. Capable of stopping 17 HMR, but I don't recommended it for that use due to the large dents that form. It's use with 22LR and 17 HM2 should give long life.

Assembled quickly with ...

Assembled quickly with provided tool and screws. We were shooting within minutes. No pellets came out. I haven't tried with rimfire ammo yet. Not intended for BB's. Instructions clearly state: DO NOT USE WITH BB's.
