I thought the product ...

I thought the product worked just fine, the magnets have held the racks in place and the ability to place them at different lwvels within the same cabinet is a definate plus. I agree the spacing is bad and I had to use every other one to get the rifles standing, but at this price no complaints.

I totally agree with the other reviewer. Worthless plastic junk. On second thought worthless doesn't even cover it. Magnet cannot hold its own weight. If you treasure your guns don't buy this product. Might be able to use as a door stop or giant comb if you've got reel thin hair. Minus 5 stars if I could.

You are basically buying ...

You are basically buying the plastic molded gun rack b/c the magnetic strip on the back is slightly better than a wad of used chewing gum. There are two choices: 1) plan on picking up this rack every time you touch it or 2) buy a good magnetic strip and glue it onto the back replacing the cheapo stock strip - then you have a gun rack that I would trust to hold my guns.

I have two of these, while they are inexpensive, and I think the concept will work, the magnet does not stick to the rear of the rack. They need to use a much better adhesive from the magnet to the rack.

What a GREAT idea! ...

What a GREAT idea! Unfortunately the manufacturer skipped the product testing aspect of the process. I can deal with the slots being much too close together. The really bad problem is the rubberized magnetic strip, (think refrigerator magnet) that YOU get to stick on the back -after filing or scraping the back flat- it will barely support the weight of the plastic. I bought 4 of these for the club and one was to be a cleaning rod rack inside the safe, no way! One rod is far too much weight. I also had to crawl into the safe to retrieve the rack that fell to the bottom after being bumped by a barrel. Instead of returning these I will spend the money buying REAL magnets and screw them to the rack the way that should have been done when it was made.

Works great for longer ...

Works great for longer barrelled rifles or shotguns. But, like the other reviewer noted the slots are a bit close. Also the magnet could be glued to the rack with a more secure adhesive. But it does what it supposed to do.

Purchased this item as I ...

Purchased this item as I have several carbines which don't reach the barrel rest in the gun safe. This item did the job of keeping them from sliding around the safe, but the slots in it are a bit close together. It is OK with the carbines, but bolt actions would not fit well. Get one with more slots than you need as you may not be able to use all the slots.
