I like the idea of bright ...

I like the idea of bright "silver" moon clips, as they are easier to find if dropped in the grass and are not subject to corrosion, as blue-steel moons are. Unfortunately, with these, and loading the clips as usual with a California Competition loading tool, I had an unusually large proportion of rounds requiring a lot of force to load, binding in the clips, and thus not loading into the gun smoothly, or not completely chambering with only gravity to help. (Rounds should be held securely but loosely in a moon clip; they should "rattle" freely and so center up easily when introduced to the chambers.) This was with my S&W M625JM and factory ammo from Winchester, Remington, etc., not reloads or remans. Could it be that the nickel plating process closes up tolerances a bit too much? I don't know, but I have gone back to the old-fashioned "rusty" blue steel clips from S&W and Wilson.
