An appreciable advancement in reliability and function has been achieved with these American-made magazines. Advancements in design and feed lip geometry have yielded enhanced function. Die-controlled tolerances are held to +/- .001" which is more than 75% tighter tolerances than magazines made to military specifications. Springs are made from aerospace-grade wire. Large view holes and numbers allow you to quickly determine how many rounds are in the magazine at a glance. Match grade magazines feature a fixed base plate.

I have used these ...

I have used these magazines for three years in my Kimber Pro-Carry Stainless, which has an aluminum frame. After tens of thousands of rounds, I began having feeding problems. It ultimately jammed twice during an IDPA match ending any hope of a decent finish. I had changed the springs the previous year so I did not suspect them. I began examining the feed ramp in the aluminum frame. I noticed a significant gouge in the aluminum. Further study showed that the follower on the CMC magazines was being pulled forward as the last round in the magazine was picked up. Over time, the follower had gouged the softer aluminum. The gouge finally got so deep that it would catch the follower on the last round, preventing proper feeding of the final round. I proceeded to polish the gouge and then put 250 rounds through the pistol without a problem, even with the CMC magazines. I will be switching to Meg-Gar magazines, as their followers are designed such that they cannot touch the feed ramp. I wouldn't worry about using these mags in a steel framed 1911, but in my opinion, they are unsuitable for aluminum framed guns.

I have used these with my Kimber in USPSA matches. They work flawlessly even after getting a little dirty from being dropped in dirt/sand. Price is great and so is the quality.

Drops right in, just make sure you put it in like the directions say. Helps to prevent frame battering. A must for any 1911 owners.

Magazine operates well as far as I can tell from manual manipulation. Not impressed at all with the standards of the base pad and screws. One of the screws stripped on installation and the base pad does not line up well with the bottom of the magazine.

Magazine has functioned flawlessly, quality construction and sturdy. The base pad that comes with it, however, will not attach because the steel base is not tapped for the screws. This a little odd and frustrating considering the overall quality of the magazine.

Well made and well priced, they are great for target shooting, I did have problem feeding HP ammo with this, but it could be the ammo itself and/or my 1911. But anyway great buy.

I purchased one of the CMC Match grade 8 round mags when I got my 1911 a year ago. I also purchased a Colt, Mec-Gar, Wilson and Trip equivalent mags too to try out which mags worked best in my new gun. The Match grade CMC mag performed flawlessly with ball, hollow point and some semi-wad cutters. The others worked OK too, but the CMC mags were the hands down winner in reliability. It didn't hurt that they were also the least expensive of the bunch(on sale here at Midway). I sold off the other mags and purchased more of the Match grade Stainless mags. They are the best kept secret in 1911 mags. If and when these mags do wear out I will be replacing them with more of the CMC Match grade mags.
