Product Information

Recoil buffers are an easy and inexpensive way to eliminate damage of critical components by preventing the metal to metal contact of the slide or breech block with the frame. Made from a high density polyurethane formulated for maximum shock-absorbing characteristics, the recoil buffer is a drop-in part.

Technical Information

Material: Polyurethane

Notes:

Recoil buffer installs between bolt or bolt carrier and whatever the bolt or bolt carrier stops against when the bolt is fully retracted during firing (installation location varies with the specific firearm).

Buffer absorbs the shock from the action operating, rather than having metal to metal contact at the end of the bolt travel.

Service life of the buffer is 800 to 1,000 rounds.

Buffer will not be damaged by oils or solvents.

This was the first thing I installed on my New M1A loaded SS, and I am glad I did. Great Product, Does the Job, No FTE/FTF, pricey but worth it. So far 300Rds shot Flawless with the combination of the Sadlak NM Guide Rod. You notice how much of a beating the buffer is taken instead of your reciever! My AK-47 and 1911 have buffers as well. I will be ordering more.

It does a good job of absorbing impact, however on my M1A it also introduced FTE issues. Taking it off as it is not worth the hassle it causes.

Works as advertised. I looked at it after firing the first 50 rounds through my rifle. There was a definate ring on the buffer where the operating rod had been making contact, yet there were no marks on neither the reciever or the operating rod. I would highly recomend this part for an m1a or m14 you are planning on keeping around for a while!

Like other reviews, I had many ejection problems with my rifle after installing the buffer. Most issues were failure to eject the spent casing and stove-piping, to the tune of every 3-4 shots. My rifle worked fine before so I removed it and it worked fine again. Re-installed the buffer and more failure to ejects. Removed it and no further problems. Sorry, this seems like a good idea but just doesn't work. Save your money.

I have used buffer tech recoil buffers in (2) mini 14's a 1980's standard and new Target model (1) 90's mini 30 (2) Romanian Ak's and 2 DPMS Lr 308's got the endine hydraulic buffer tech buffers, never had a problem with any of them EVER! I installed this buffer in my M1A Scout in less than 5 minutes and took it to the range to try it out and see if what the nay sayers stated was true. Fired approximately 60 rounds of Gold medal match 186BTHP, and 200 rounds of white box Winchester 7.62, 147 grain FMJ with no single issue. No FTE, FTL, or failure to cycle. Worked for me and have already recommended it to my fellow M1A shooters. If it reduces wear on my expensive M1A than its a no brainer....just my two cents!

I bought this buffer for my M1A and for my Dads Mini 14. Both caused feeding and ejection problems for our rifles. Waste of money.

Works great. I have not noticed any difference in rifle function in the past 5 yrs of use - maybe 2,500 rounds. I am on my third replacement - I swap out every 1K rounds or so.

I purchased the Buffer Technologies Recoil Buffer for my new M1A scout. After installation I used a new magazine to test both. I could only fire a couple of rounds and my scout would eject the round by not feed. I thought it was the magazine until I use one that I new was reliable. Same malfunction happened with all of my magazines. I took the correctly installed buffer out and all of my magazines functioned flawlessly.
