This an exceptional bullet for the cost. The 154 gr. weight bullet offers, perhaps, the best possible compromise in higher velocity 7mm cartridges. Hornady's Interbond 154 gr. opens up to exceptional diameters while retaining a high percentage of its original weight. Try them out in newsprint and you will see that the cavitation is massive. Penetration is entirely adequate for larger species of medium-size game, such as wild boar, black bear, sheep, trophy mulies, etc. While more suitable bullets (say, possibly, 175 gr.) might exist for the largest non-dangerous game, I would have no apprehensions about dropping the largest elk with this bullet. I certainly wouldn't stay home because I was limited to handloads with this bullet on an elk hunt, or moose for that matter. The Hornady 154 gr. Interbond absolutely MUST be one of the very best bullets for long range mulies and such sized game animals. With its high B.C. and insured terminal integrity, this is one of THE best bullets made for use in the high-stepping 7 MMs. Give it a shot. It is an excellent bullet for the cost. Compares favorably to any bullet, regardless of price. Great job Hornady! Great job indeed.

i had the excact same problem as mike, the genleman above, hornady told me they were made last year and to ship them back to them and they would ship me replacements. i loaded 165 grain I.B.in my weatherby .300 and the first time out i shot a three shot group from 100 yards and covered it with a nickle. i think they have a good bullet but a few bad ones excaped the factory.. stuff happens,,,, but they seem to want to make it right..

I used these in Hornady ...

I used these in Hornady factory loads and shot two deer with the most devastating performance of a bullet I have ever seen. Liked them so much I bought some for reloading. I have had problems with the bullet jacket crimping from my seating die. Sure something is not properly adjusted but the bullet performance is worth it! My go to bullet!

Purchased a box from ...

Purchased a box from Hornady after a friend insisted I try these for my custom rifle I just had built. Im glad I did because I am getting great accuracy, about .3 to .4 inch groups at 100 yards out of my 7mm saum running about 3150 at the muzzle. I had the pleasure of taking two whitetails this past season one at 317yds hit the ground at the sound of the rifle and full pass through. The other was at 561 and a high shoulder shot put him down in his tracks. The bullet went through both shoulders lodging under skin. Massive wound channel on both deer but small entry and exit holes. Great bullet with post another after the upcoming elk hunt in Colorado this year.

Unreal 1/2" groups at 100 ...

Unreal 1/2" groups at 100 yards. They are awesome in my 7mm Mag and work wonders on deer. I shot an 8 point that weighed in at 210 lbs. At 330 yards they dropped him like a bag of rocks. Even at that distance the bullet did a great job of turning lungs and heart into soup. I lobe this bullet.

Shooting this out of A Bolt Browning w/Boss system. Great accuracy very tight groups and a great bullet for white tail. H4350 powder with the Nosler brass. Very satisfied.

What more can I say about ...

What more can I say about this bullet than the previous hunter hasn't already said? It is a fantastic combination of qualities that we all prize in a component bullet. The Interbond is extremely accurate with all the powders I've used: Re19, H4831, IMR4350, and IMR4831. Just give it an accurate measure and it'll sing a pretty song through my 7mm Rem Mag. The Interbond is priced well below the super premiums while duplicating, or in many cases, surpassing their performance. I have used it extensively for controlling wild hogs from 5 yards out to over 400 on porkers that ranged from 50lbs to over 450lbs and it has performed flawlessly each and every time. I too would not be afraid to sling this bullet at an elk. It performs well on the lighter skinned critters and has proven on many occasion that it is up to the challenge on the bigger stuff. If you are looking for a bullet to suit many conditions at a price that will allow you to slingem down-range often...look no further!

Review from 1/8/2007: In forty years of hunting and reloading, this is the best bullet that I have found. 7mm Remington Magnum, 700 CDL, H4831SC - 1/2" groups, killed five deer this year, from 75 yards to 297 via rangefinder. From head shots to rib shots, all deer dropped, the one at 297 yards ran about five-ten yards. All small entry holes and exits, except the head shot, back of head was blown off. As expected they are deadly on varmints also! Extreme accuracy and great performance on game, what more can you ask for. In my quest for loads in the 7mm Magnum, 270 Winchester and 300 RUM, all have come full circle back to the Hornady Interbonds!! Review 12/15/2008: A follow up to my previous post, now with the performance on another 20-25 game animals, the performance is better than Nosler BT, Speer Hot-Cor, and all of the non-reloading available factory offerings in ammunition. These are the premium one-stop bullets, the best known to man, backstrap boogie, hog Houdini of heaven, I shot a 300 pound hog running towards me at 200 + yards, hit him/boar in the rear portion of the jaw and the bullet exited just above his tail. It was travelling at app. 3,200 fps from the muzzle and never fragmented or came apart. What more can you say?? I am what can you say sold on the product!! For the premium dollars that aircraft fuel, corn, etc. cost why would you utilize another bullet??

Just an addition to the ...

Just an addition to the other review that I presented. Try Hodgdon's H870 in the 7mm Rem. Magnum. A charge of between 79 and 81 grs. of H870 in nickel Remington cases, and ignited by CCI magnum primers, produces sub 1 MOA groups in my M700 with the Hornady 154 gr. Interbond, and all day long. Neat things is that H870 produces maximum velocities in the 7mm Remington Magnum at low pressures. The above loads are about 10,000 CUP below maximum pressure, yet velocities are above 3000 fps. You'll find such loads listed in the Hodgdon data. Hornady's 154 gr. Interbond is both accurate and deadly. One just can't expect any better performance than this bullet offers!

Purchased 2 boxes of ...

Purchased 2 boxes of these and found them to have varying weights, not consistent. Also, tips were deformed and some were not seated all the way on the top of the bullet. There were numerous bullets in both boxes which had small pitting and blemishes which could be felt as indentations on the main portion of the bullet. I contacted Hornady and mailed them back. I was sent 2 "new" boxes and to my amazement it was the same exact lot number (#2060172) and the bullets were in the same condition. Not exactly happy with these bullets or the fact I was sent defective bullets from Hornady. I am not happy with these.
